Recycling and re-purposing. I've used recycled wood in real life before from a demolished structure from a old patio and stairs. Though granted not as pretty as new wood but it is wood regardless.
When you demo something in real life you do get some stuff back that is usable still if you want to go through the pile and pick stuff out. It also is how careful you demolish it on how much you want to reuse and not wanting to destroy the resources that your trying to save. I say in the game you should get like a quarter maby to a half back from demolished stuff.
