Save game sharing in 2024??

Hello!

First, a thanks to the developer for this great game.

Then, the question: my wife and I play the game often together (we have two gaming laptops), but sometimes either of us would also like to continue building when the other one isn't around. SInce my wife is the host, she can obviously do this whenever, because she has the save game into which I always join. However, I cannot do that, because transfering the save files doesn't seem to work anymore. I tried copying the contents of the SaveGames folder (under AppData etc.) from my wife's account to my own on the same computer, and the only result is that I lose my character.

Is there any way to share a save file on the same computer, but with a different Steam user? Or using a different computer and a different Steam user?

Copying the entire savegames folder will also include character saves and a few other areas.
All you need is the single ranch save, this should be the same name as what your wife has called it and is within the SaveGames folder.
