Animals dying randomly
I noticed a couple of my animals died randomly.
First it was a lot of my male pigs.
Then a couple days later, 5 of my beef cattle.
Does anyone have any idea, why this happens?
Sometimes I play through the night, does this have an effect?
Their food should last till morning when they eat again, should it not?

We do recommend sleeping often, working through the night on the odd occasion should be fine.
Make sure that your animals also have enough food and can reach it easily.

Thank you, will pay attention to sleeping. My silo's are always full, with water supplied by windmills. No problem there

Update: Was working late one night, and made rounds to all my animals, to see how they were doing. Most of my animals went for food and drink, and it was after 22:15.
Would really like to know, what is the root cause of them dying randomly.

I am actually experiencing the opposite; I have about 20 chickens, 8 in a medium coop and 12-15 in a closed fenced in area, with no food or water troughs anywhere nearby (like minimum of 8 fence lengths or more to the nearest trough) - and they won't die.

Had another bunch of female pigs and beef cattle dying, while they have enough food and water, and I sleep every night. Really don't get it.

i just had a bunch of chickens and horses (2) die (on different nights) with enough food and water- yes, reachable cuz they didn't die for the previous 5 or so days
and yes feedings bins where full cuz i kept them literally next to the house, always passing by their silo and restocking it.
However with the horses specifically i noticed, that, after training them and putting them back into their pen, they also didn't start to roam around. They where just standing like statues.

Devs, please look into this issue of animals dying randomly.
Would appreciate feedback.
As mentioned in the comments below, sleeping every night, water and food is filled up, and still animals die off randomly. This is a huge game breaker, to build up the farm, and then losing animals like that.
Cheers

This is ridiculous, get all set up, buy animals, then after a few days they all start dying. This don't look like a new problem. Post's from 2022, same problem, whats going on??

Its quite ridiculous that "your sleep cycle" has anything to do with animal behavior and should be reworked ......Given that they advertise this as a "single player game" if i dont wanna sleep for 2 weeks thats my buisness not the animals or the devs

I’ve noticed that the pigs seem to self purge every 4-6 days too. I built a large barn, it’s packed with pigs and goats, also with several food and water troughs inside, to feed them all. The odd thing is, the goats do not seem to have the same mortality issue. I literally have to go on a goat-slaughter fest, to bring their numbers down. The pigs on the other hand, seem to self-purge? I see that you’re mentioning sleeping as a reason why the animals die randomly, but if that’s so, why are the goats unaffected?
