how do you make money with pigs?

I have not raised animals yet, but I believe you slaughter the hogs and grind them into sausage. Then sell that.

The more processed the meat, the better price you will fetch.
Meat balls are worth more than just slaughtered, sausage is worth more than meat balls.
The highest value is dried sausage, where you have added eggs and milk.
I recommend to make dried sausage, very good value for money.
If you are into the whole production chain later on, then you can add eggs or milk, or both.

Once pigs take off, you will have a hard time keeping up to slaughter and process.
Keep an eye on the price multiplier at the Burger shop. I never sell for under 1.6, good money

Buy a male, a female, let them live their life with some water and food so they don't starve. And after around a couple days they'll have babies.
You wait until they don't need their mother, then you slay the adult to collect the meat. Of course if your're not in a hurry, you can wait that they have multiple babies so you got way more pigs. The babies will grown into adult at some point and reproduce, etc...

After that you can sell the meat directly, or buy machines (manual or electrical) to turn the meat into sausages or meat balls. Then again you can sell the sausages/meat balls directly, or let them dry in closets that you need to build.

so how exactly does it work.. you put the meat in the grinder and from there you put it in the sausage thing and then in the meat cabinet? or just use the grinder and put in the cabinet?
i do have a male and female and they already gave birth to 5 or so.. just have to wait till they grow i guess

You need both machines to make sausages, You put the meat into the grinder, you need to put a small kitchen container under the machine so the grinded meat fall inside.
Then you take the contrainer and use it on the sausage machine to get the sausage.
For the meat balls, you use the grinder but instead of moving the meat to the other machine you can grab it in your hands directly instead (there is 2 different key that are highlighted so you can see the difference)

Both can be place into closet to dry.

in terms of time/effort, i bought a male and female pig, let them breed. slaughtered the male once fully grown. i went through and made sausages with egg and hung on the drying rack to turn into salami. this gave a nice payout but the time/effort was annoying. now i have 2 electric meat grinders. i let the pigs breed a bunch (i have maybe 20ish pigs) and once fully grown, i shoot all the full grown males, put the meat into coolers (id fill 10 or so coolers) and go to burger town and sell for 13,000+. keeps the numbers of pigs down and its quick easy money by comparison

You can also sell raw pork on a good multiplier day by loading 4 grown pigs into the box truck, driving the truck to the Burger Store and parking in the loading zone, then open the doors and shoot the pigs inside the truck. The truck (mostly) keeps the pork from flying all over and you can easily butcher and sell 4 pigs at a time without having to bother collecting the meat and loading it into coolers.
