I think it’d be even better if there was a delay between ordering and receiving the way there is IRL. Most of the games I’ve played have had the delivery ridiculously fast after the order was placed but if there was a delay for shipping then that would add to the simulation part. Also it’d make planning and precise execution that much more important. If you have all of the blueprints for a building laid out, and you’ve got the exact total on materials totaled and you’ve got the money in that bank, then it makes sense to place the order for everything in one go. Then it arrives all together and it’s just a matter of plugging the materials in. But if you miscount or forget something, then you have to put in a second order and that second order could have the material you need to plug in first to get things going. So to have that delay between the first and second shipments, like there would be IRL, would add importance to that planning and precision which is how I like to play.
I WOULD LOVE THIS!
I like your additions as well! But for the love of everything holy in this world...
At least give an option to AUTOMATICALLY fill our trailers with lumber! What a time saver from the tedium that would be! Just have the option there in the cart on that item. "Fill trailer" or buy single units. Then it could go into a short animation of time passing a few hours and bam, trailer filled!
I've at least finally figured out how to line up the trailer so that the lumber fits in perfectly. Using the car hauler trailer you can get 3 rows of eleven on each layer. Times three high. So that's 99 lumber total that it holds. I will be releasing a video soon of how this is done. You simply have to line up your vehicle facing out. But as you line it up, used the middle line in the pavement of where your order is dropped. As long as your are straight and lined up everything will "snap" at the angle you need.
Hope this helps anyone/everyone who doesn't already know.
