Vehicles don't lock to vehicle trailer

I feel like I wasted my money on something that's completely broken. Unlike every other item in the game that stays put wherever you put it in the back of a vehicle or trailer, vehicles will just roll right out the back or sides of the vehicle trailer. Putting the back up helps for a second, but vehicles will still roll up it, flip over, and jank out the sides or front of the trailer when you turn or break. What's the point in having a vehicle trailer that can't be used to transport vehicles more than a few feet before they fall out?

I don't use my trailers to pull vehicles. I drive the vehicles and use them to pull a trailer or to haul in the bed.
The only things that go on my trailers are live animal, meat chunks, logs or planks, milk tins, etc. Nothing with wheels, because they're so buggy and because I don't buy vehicles I don't need so I don't usually have a spare vehicle to haul around on a trailer.
