Who actually asked for this?
RS Devs stated "In early 2024 we'll be releasing the much requested cats and dogs update..." and "We know that dogs and cats are highly anticipated by the community..."

Who actually asked for this? Really? I couldve thought of 100 different things this game needs and dogs and cats isnt one of them by a long shot...

Big thanks to the "community" who asked for this because its not like this game isnt missing more important things...

Having lived my whole life (nearly 60 years) in a rural area, I have yet to see a ranch or farm without barn cats. Many farms and ranches also have at least two BIG dogs for chasing off the coyotes. It would seem pretty normal to me to add them to a ranch simulator.

I think only two kind of people might want pets in such game: those having one in real life, and those who doesn't have.

People asked for cats and dogs and it is a relatively easy thing to add while we also address other issues. So people will get some content along side the usual fixes and such

How bout adding in trees regrow, that seems relatively easy. Or how bout adding some new skins to the building pieces, that seems relatively easy. Or what about keeping animals from trying to escape penned in areas, that seems relatively easy. What will the cats and dogs actually due besides being cats and dogs? Will they serve some sort of purpose or is it just another mouth to feed? Also, by the turn out here in this thread, it doesnt look like a majority asked for this.

Everybody in this thread is in the favor of cats and dogs except you. The developers have a better picture of the playerbase's wishes, the possibilities of different expansions and the timeline of building the game than you or me. Every new content is welcome, the developers and the other players are not obligated to follow your preferences.

Well if you havent noticed, the things I just mentioned above are heavily posted about, or did you miss that? Everybody in this thread is for cats n dogs, but as a whole community, you seem to be the minority since theres only what, 5 or 6 of you in here? Im sure theres more than 5-6 people who bought the game, especially those who have made multiple posts about the things I mentioned above...As for the playerbases wishes and the devs better picture of that, seems like they listen more to a minority, imo.... anywho, Ill move on to something else till something more substantial is implemented. Ive made my point and wont bother dragging it on. Best of luck.

Here is idea, if you don't want cats or dogs then don't buy them, there is a lot of us that do want to have pets

Exactly. Take them or don't. But I would much rather have horses (for riding) and sheep (meat/wool) than dogs or cats. On the other hand, having a dog would be a very nice touch though. Cats on a ranch seem almost a requirement to keep mice away. Why can't we have them all?
