Oil Site

What does an "active oil site" look like? I've walked all supposed places but I don't see any oil spots.

an active spot has a black pool of oil on it, the others are just grey-ish

How big is it?
Is the spot the size of the blue garage or is it as big as the cart or smaller? More walking today. :)

I've tried placing an oil rig on every dark colored spot with no luck yet.

The two spots that will accept an oil derrick are much darker soil, think of an oil spill:

Is there supposed to be one oil spot on my ranch property?
If so i would like to know where it is.

There will not be one on your ranch, but one of the spots is really close. it is kind of behind the bus stop heading in the direction of the gas station. If it is very dark colored, you can put a derrick on it.

You tube has it the active oil fields are not the same on every ones map.
I have looked where you are describing and found the "raw" flat rock but color was grey not any black anywhere there. I walked that whole area with the Oil rig. :) Nada.

every map has different location, 2 site are available you are lucky if it spawned near traders locations

I found mine behind the hardware store on top the hill its kinda hidden by trees
