This game vs Farmer's Life

Tbh I just bought this because the regional price but I wanted to know what people prefer and why being that these two games are so similar but this game has a higher playerbase. Also both have very positive reviews.

Spent almost 40 hours in Farmer's Life and enjoyed most of it. The issue it have have to do more with how game mechanics are introduced and lack of guidance towards more enjoyable progression.
This "game" I refunded after almost 2 hours as it's a pure junk. Every mechanic in this game is just bare bones, very basic with no depth. Was trying to do a large scale farming only to release that you can do that only on literally square field, that are pre-made for you near the ranch. The rest you grow just in planter boxed like this is some kind of Rust. There is nothing "simalutory" about this game. Just a bunch of "survival" building and crafting mechanics jumbled together.

And I should have paid more attention to the reviews, most of the positive ones are one liners...
