it also doesnt matter if you place feedthrough inside a barn or fenced area.
animals do eat through walls and from far away.
just plonk down like 10 feedthrough somewhere center on your farm, also plonk down like 10 water buckets and a well.
as long as you didnt built any feed through you can also just pour grain bags on the ground and all animals will eat from that. but the moment you build a feed through they will try to eat from that.
and btw, make sure to sleep at night ingame. animals will sleep for 12hrs straight without eating or drinking. some might starve to death while you are happily chopping trees at 1am in the forest in the flashlight light. so, sleep too.
Good to know! Thank you so much!
I had that happen to me , i went of to harvest my fields but before i left i filled all the water troughs and food troughs because i knew i would be away some time.
With the game state at this moment to harvest the 3 fields and try to unload my wheat into the granary ( which i couldn't for some reason ) so i had to go sell the wheat instead.
When i returned all my pigs and cows was dead from starvation apart from 1 single cow.
Bare in mind i had 2 cows with 1 calf and 2 pigs with 3 piglets, i had 3 water troughs and 3 food troughs in the barn where they was all kept and they was all filled before i set off to harvest.
