is there pvp? if yes, what is the population base in a server or whatever?

I don't think it's a PVP, it's a Co-Op.

I read that 4 are allowed on the server.

I don't know. I've played this game with a friend a fair bit and with the amount of times I've rammed into him with a vehicle it may as well be pvp :) (its not)

It's Person Versus Bears and Wolves if you need a bit of a challenge. They like to sneak up on you when you are filling up with fuel or at the hardware shop. The deer are known to toss your vehicle over when it's left unattended too. You can have your friends join you but expect some strong words from them about your driving skills. Oh and warn them about getting pecked when collecting fertile hen eggs. They can go hunting with you.

I've seen videos of co-op where people were shooting each other just for laughs. You can also accidentally shoot and kill yourself (I've done this a couple of times). With that being said, there is no useful purpose for PVP in the gameplay.

I've got in the habit of standing on top of the vehicle when I skin and pick up meat, so bears and wolves can't get me. I guess it's kind of cheating, but it works.

That is a very good idea.

Can't be cheating any more than being able to pick things up from 20 feet away LOL

My wife in co-op has "accidentally" shot me twice and killed me. I guess that is sort of pvp. I was also hit by lightning once in a storm and killed. Ricochets are a thing too.

Wow, I didn't know you could get hit by the lightning. I must have got lucky. With over 375 hours in the game, I haven't got hit with it and I am always out in the storms. Now that I have gloated about it, you know I will get struck down next time I play. ;)
