Because of the way the game loads level of detail, while you can search for them by sight (look for a white ball attached to a tree), it's often easier to listen for them. I'll be driving around and catch a quick bzzz and stop to find it. Already up to three full hives making a lot of money from honey alone (seems I can get honey almost every day?).
There is other places, but travelling between those 4 places I mentioned you should stumble across others. (like up near the gas station where a possible oil field is located). Good luck!
LOL, it is a game, not a job. You also might get lucky finding other stuff while walking/driving around. There's a treasure chest to find and oil wells and...
I am not a fan of easy games. Where's the fun if you just need to drive along a route and clicking left and right to collect stuff? Since bees are an add on to the main stuff I'd rather expect the developers not to change anything.
Except maybe add difficulty levels where on "lame" setting the bees and oil wells all show up on the map. And pay sufficiently less to make the setting less attractive
