SPOILER
If you save at the bus stop in front of car shop, you can check the specials and if not what you want you can reload and check again. The specials change when you load a game.
On one run from ranch following my route (black route on map) to the burger place I get 27 to 33 pieces of Wild Meat. When I get to the burger place if wild meat not on special at 1.5 the normal sell price or higher, I wait for the next day to sell. I put my meat on the ground near the burger shop so I have room for more meat and the next morning I take my same hunting route and check shop. I think the most days it took to get a good sell price was 3 to 4 but when sold I had over 4,500
When I first started hunting I would wait for the dear to stop running. In most cases they run around back and forth for a bit then stop for a bit. I figure you are already holding the right mouse button down to aim as you mention the crosshair.
An old workaround for the crosshair ... if you take a small piece of clear tape and put in on monitor over the top of the white dot, you can then make a slightly bigger dot on the tape. Back in the old days with the old big monitors, I used to use a dry erase marker and just put a dot on my screen. I do not do that now as I don't want to risk messing with any coating of stuff the monitor has.
If you still have issues or questions you can post back here. Also if you want info on hunting such as a map with a good hunting route you can look in guides for a guide called ...
