My assets are disappearing by the chicken $500 coop
I'm having a very difficult time trying to get ahead in this game with this kind of stuff going on in the background. Whoever created this game is tighter than Fort Knox with the initial funds given to the player. It's twice as hard to do anything with ranch sim with the latest update.

By assets do you mean money (cash)? If so, you get some for each quest you complete. The best money early game is hunting. If you want some info on hunting or a map with a good hunting route you can check my guide linked below. Also be sure you try to sell at the burger restaurant (across from Car shop) Go in back door and you will see a menu of the specials and a price multiplier. So for example ... Wild meat sells for 15 but if you sell on special with 2X multiplier you get 30.

SPOILER
If you save at the bus stop in front of car shop, you can check the specials and if not what you want you can reload and check again. The specials change when you load a game.

I had a full egg basket disappear along with two bags of feed, they were laying on the right side next to the coop before I saved my game. When I restarted, they were gone. So I decided to check if my ammo was missing too and it was. Now I only have $100 bucks and six starving chicken to get things back in order again. This is my second attempt trying to become successful with the game. Every step forward I make in game, I take two steps back due to the bugs. I'm trying hard to LIKE this game as it is but I honestly can't recommend it.

Hmm, I have not seen this issue at all. But I do recall someone saying the game did not save and the dev asked them to try and wait like a minute before logging out after saving just to be sure the write process has time to complete. Other than that we will need to wait for a dev to chime in.

Since the price of game meat has drastically been reduced, In my second attempt, I've gone as far as harvesting all of the trees in the yellowish portion of the homestead map and sawing them into dimensional lumber to sell them in the market. Several hundred trees. This alone is not worth your time in order to try to get ahead due to the plank sales price being too low yet again, while it should be worth your time as lumberjacks can make a decent living IRL working hard. After all, this is a SIM, so let the player do what they want to do in the sandbox rather than cut their efforts 'to succeed' back with every update. We want it to be a FUN game and this sort of thing is quite a fun challenge that proved to become unfruitful. The hunting portion of the game (meat PRICE) was the main reason why I bought early access and that has been abated without a good motive. It has never prevented anyone from subsequently trying other homesteading aspects of the game. The daylight hours of game play is also ridiculously too short. Since the update people have been trying to find cheats and the game is not even done with yet. WHY?, because there's no other option left to do in the sim. When we look at you-tube game play, the only ones who are successful 'gameplay-wise' were the people who could haul a dump truck worth of game meat to the store. Hauling dimensional lumber is just a wasted effort. It leaves me with nothing else to do since we can't afford anything else at the moment. $1,000 for the electric meat grinder, seriously? Hell I couldn't even afford to buy the $600 cargo trailer needed to help me out. I then tried raising chicken and here we are. Oh, one more thing, while driving my UTV, I could see the gas gauge drop in so little of travel. Since the price of gas is quite high and our income is at a draw-down, hunting in the utv, or doing anything else with it is utterly difficult. What else will the devs cut back? My assets are disappearing now, which has lead to an END OF LIFE for me to continue playing Ranch Sim, because its currently a lost cause in need of some DIRE ATTENTION TO DETAIL in order to prevail sales-wise.

Very odd, I get 700 to 1,000 + on one hunting run (route on the map in my guide (it is hidden as a spoiler down in the guide) depending on the price modifier at the burger place across from the car shop. I do not use cheats (I know of some as posted above but don't use them).

On one run from ranch following my route (black route on map) to the burger place I get 27 to 33 pieces of Wild Meat. When I get to the burger place if wild meat not on special at 1.5 the normal sell price or higher, I wait for the next day to sell. I put my meat on the ground near the burger shop so I have room for more meat and the next morning I take my same hunting route and check shop. I think the most days it took to get a good sell price was 3 to 4 but when sold I had over 4,500

I understand that early access leads to these sort of things and I'm just merely pointing them out because I would like to see Ranch Sim become a game changer, one that everyone will be interested in playing for a long time. Thank you, WindWalker for your tips. I have yet to see $1,000 dollars of EARNED income in the 29 hrs of playing the game and we're not talking about the house building task that will require 50% of those funds in order to build your first dwelling.

Furthermore, the store menus need to be more descriptive for things like the stun-gun and why there are three different pails as they all seem to serve the same purpose. Variety is a good thing, so give us another sub category if there will be more of the same stuff. The cargo trailers too, let us know what vehicles they are able to work with in the description. Do all the vehicles have a trailer hitch, that sort of thing. I also look forward to a generator with a light tower that could be towed to our work location if there isn't going to be an ample source of light at night or extended daylight playtime.

Im guessing that's a bug. I can understand the price reduction on wild meat considering the rest of things in the update. If they didnt reduce the price, wild meat could be worth up to $60 each now.

Hi everyone, i hope i'm posting this in the right area. i love playing ranch sim, i just can't seem to kill deer, my crosshairs are so small i go through 48 bullets and can't get meat to sell. any help on this would be amazing!! oh and as far as the eggs go we can't sell them, so what do we do with them other than see if lil chicks hatch.

You can sell eggs(unless that changed). But you get more out of them if you add them to your sausages/meatballs. It increases the price of the sausage/meatball.

ok Terry i will check again on selling eggs just to see. to add them to sausage or meatballs don't i have to be able to kill something first? that is my only frustrating thing, is not being able to get anything.
Cindy Carosa May 10, 2021 @ 8:19am
but i definitly need to have some type of income. at the moment there is no money coming in lol
Windwalker May 10, 2021 @ 9:14am
@cindycarosa are you shooting in first person or third person view? I ask because in first person there is no crosshair just iron site. Third person has a dot for the crosshair on my screen,

When I first started hunting I would wait for the dear to stop running. In most cases they run around back and forth for a bit then stop for a bit. I figure you are already holding the right mouse button down to aim as you mention the crosshair.

An old workaround for the crosshair ... if you take a small piece of clear tape and put in on monitor over the top of the white dot, you can then make a slightly bigger dot on the tape. Back in the old days with the old big monitors, I used to use a dry erase marker and just put a dot on my screen. I do not do that now as I don't want to risk messing with any coating of stuff the monitor has.

If you still have issues or questions you can post back here. Also if you want info on hunting such as a map with a good hunting route you can look in guides for a guide called ...

One option to make money with out building a barn. Buy a pig and keep him in the garage. It has double doors for when he gets to big. Just empty feed bag on the floor and a bucket of water. You can also keep chickens in the bard as well as the old shack. The eggs disappearing has happened to me on several occasions. I figured it was a glitch in the game. I haven't had the issue since the update. When you get extra cash make sure to buy a cooler. makes it easier to carry wild meat around.
Cindy Carosa May 10, 2021 @ 10:22am
Windwalker i think im doing it in 3rd person. i will try first. i did sell the eggs so i do have some income now.thank you for the tips on hunting i will definitly try it. SELMCCOY. thank you for the tips on pigs! i didn't know you could keep them in the barn. thank you both for all the help i will try all of them. now i am not frustrated with getting income and shooting.
