Murder Chickens!
I'd built the upgraded chicken coop, started with 2 hens and a rooster. My coop is the one with the egg drawer, and I went into the coop to clean up the poop... saw a couple of eggs on the floor, so I assumed they just hadn't spawned in the drawer and tried to pick one up. The hen attacked me, beat my butt because I was laughing too hard. That's a really nice bit of attention to real world detail: Brooding hens are ill-tempered and highly aggressive. So assume that eggs on the floor of the coop and not in the drawers are destined to be chicks, so the hen's protective.

You need to buy the Ovo machine for $100 it tells you which ones are fertile. If you pick up the fertile eggs, hens will attac.

But you also need to pick them up to check them.

The large hen house, with the drawers is best for breeding. Since the fertilized eggs usually are inside at the middle of the house, and the non-fertilized ones go into the drawers.

Biggest down side is when you have that one egg in a spot you can't reach, or the poop, the poop is a big problem.

If you have the coop with the draws, all eggs in the draws are usually dead... anyone of them not in the draw is going to be fertile. Bigger coop, any of the eggs on the bedding will be dead, the rest will be fertile. From what I been seeing, any eggs on the bedding = sold, all the rest not on the bedding = fertile.

I built the Big coop and when getting some eggs out of the drawers have been attacked so there must be fertile ones in the drawer. I have not seen any on the floor of the coop when cleaning yet. I only have four hens and a rooster in it so far. Not bought the scope yet as I needed more hen feed and haven't managed to shoot a deer.

They might have changed it, cause all the draws would be non fertile eggs. When the game dropped I never had a fertile egg in the draws, maybe one of the new patches sorted that out.
