There is no dedicated server and I personally dont expect it to come - because this would cause more problems than anything else. The days ingame are very short and your animals would starve if you are offline for several hours.
Unless they've changed it, literally anyone can join your game if you're appearing online on Steam. This means complete strangers can step into your game and make changes to your farm, perhaps ones that you don't want made. And there's nothing you can do about it. The only way to prevent this is to appear offline while playing it, which of course means then your friends can't join you.
And yes I know all about Discord or TeamSpeak, but some players do not want to use those, & in-game chat is a default for virtually every other game out there.
