Here's How to Request a Refund from WB Games
So I wrote to Steam Support asking who I would need to contact for a refund.

They sent me to the support page for the game, which listed the external support link for WB Games:

http://support.wbgames.com/ics/support/contactUs.asp

So I've submitted my refund request through their web form. If that doesn't work, I'll give them a call.

I suggest everyone who wants a refund do the same. Steam has washed its hands clean of refunds due to their policy, so this appears to be the proper/only channel to request refunds.

Lulz, good luck with that. Do you do this will every game you dislike?

No. I've never requested a refund before in my life, for anything, digital or physical.

My philosophy is that you should learn a lesson from money spent on something, whether you fully enjoyed it or not.

However, this game is entirely not fit for purpose. It's literally unplayable (software cursor caused input lag being the first and largest offender). And that justifies a refund, same as with buying anything entirely not fit for purpose.

I actually like your response and so hope you do get a refund. I like the game, but if enough people ask for a refund maybe someome will get the idea and try to fix some of the issues.

I agree with both of you, i will ask for a refund just basicly for all the lagg issues with peer to peer.

That's another reason. I'm a strategist, which is why I play RTS and MOBA games. And from a strategic point of view, the requesting of refunds in itself is valuable.

The way I see it, even if, somehow, through some loophole in consumer laws, WB Games and/or Steam all manage to avoid issuing refunds, it would at least put enough pressure on them to make the game playable.

I sure as hell didn't buy the game to compete with LoL or DotA2. I bought it because I wanted a non-competitive MOBA to replace Demigod, one of my favorite PC games ever (see my avatar, the Torch Bearer, one of the heroes from Demigod), which was hacked to death and died ages ago. A MOBA to play for fun.

Unfortunately, I got this...

I've played very little of Demigod and was quite impressed, it was way ahead of its time.

this and a few other rare games are making me wary of buying off steam. some of them do not fulfill their intended purpose and they are advertised falsely (a few of the older rpg's still have multiplayer or co op advertised but the servers have been shut down). steam may think they have a loophole but they dont. if they sell to australians in australia even through the internet. they are bound by australian law. and here if something does not work as intended or advertised you are entitled to a full refund. and im sure its the same in most other countries.

this is taken off http://deliverbliss.com/customer-complaints-gift the website itself is not really relevant but this following part off it is.

TARP researchers have found that for every one person who complains, there are 26 who do not. Every time you complain, and/or give feedback, not only are you helping your favorite companies get better at what they do, but you’re providing a voice for dozens of other customers who may have experienced the same issue.

forget me voicing for the rest who dont speak up part. i put that there to show that if im one person who thinks to be more wary of steam and their refusal to satisfy their customers then there is 26 people (at the very, very least) who think the same and i think a large percentage who bought this game feel the same way about the refund policy ♥♥♥♥♥.:Original_Assassin:

lord of the rings concept is always awesome, yet the smoothness of gameplay is just not there. i hate it when companies make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, throw in themes everyone loves like star wars or lord of the rings, and then sell it, only for the players to want to roll in a ball and cry about wasting 20$ on this ♥♥♥♥! what is the point of making two different options of "5v5" and "Co-op vs bots" when all you ever do is verse bots anyway. who the hell plays a multiplayer game wanting to verse bots?!

Demigod was a buggy mess at launch. It took roughly 3 months of patches to iron it out. It was literally - unplayable - at launch. Yet we don't see people talking about that here..

Demigod required a complete re-write the matchmaking and network systems. Until that happened gamers were left out to dry. It wasn't a fun time. This game is heaven compared to Demigod at launch!

Of course there's no patch. It's a cheap console port cash-in.

They wouldn't have released it in this state if they intended to support it.

I was just hoping it would be playable at launch, so I could enjoy playing it for a while as a casual, non-competitive MOBA for fun. Alas...

lol. really steam has to take some accountabilty for what it sells. its getting ridiculous. they might be the biggest player now but if they piss off enough people they will look elsewhere.
