1 year later, still no free-roam
I suggested this about 1 year ago, https://twitter.com/azgoodaz/status/1272304736755122184 and it still hasn't been implemented yet.

Hopefully we can revive this so we can spend countless hours delivery packages after beating the game. Currently game has no replay value.

That's one thing I love about the game Eastshade: I've played it twice and the second time I didn't leave (on the ship) so I can return whenever I like, walk around, fish, raft, camp, pick up things...all with the beautiful music and scenery. Replay value 100%

Yeah, that was one of the only disappointments to the game. I would have loved to have been able to come back, after the 'end' and continue to deliver packages.
Post-completion free-roam would indeed be very nice.

Depending on how the current letter- and package system is developed, perhaps some kind of procedurally generated mail list could be available post-completion? You could even have an achievement for, e.g., 1000 letters delivered.

But why? When the story is over, it's over. No point in delivering more mail (which isn't really the fun part of the game in my opinion), if there is no more dialogue and no more people to talk to.

For me, it's just the opportunity to (however briefly) drive around or maybe park, get out and enjoy the sights and sounds...an escape if you will. Of course not everybody would enjoy doing this and that's fine...it's just nice to have the option. :-)

So you can just start a new game and walk or drive around.

But then you'd be tied in to the constraints of the day--little mail/package icons following you, littering the map...Free roaming, after you've completed the story, would allow enjoyment of the town, lake, scenery, etc, at ones on pace. Jmo...to each their own :-)

You can do that every day you deliver mail before returning to the post office and ending it.

Different people have different motivations for playing the game. While not everyone would like this, some would. Whether there are enough to justify the development cost is of course the big question - ideas are always plentiful, while resources are finite.

So. wait: I can't simply park the delivery truck somewhere, get out, and free-walk the entire setting?

That's a show-stopper for me. That was my primary motivation for wanting this game.

Well, I just finished my first work week--I was able to go where I wanted...I could get out and walk around wherever, whenever and enjoy the sights and sounds. So yes, you CAN park and free-walk if you like :-)

I don't feel as free with the uniform and a job to do, to explore but what could be implemented imo it should be a freeroam on sundays
since you schedule stuff to do during the week days how about if you had your own car, then ditch the uniform and go do your tasks/have fun sighseeing, driving to each destination any order you want and do what you want and finish the day on your house

This is in regards to when beating the game, you can't just do limitless deliveries. You have to create a brand new save, and repeat the same delivery missions in order to deliver again.

Agreed! Would really enjoy more of a free roam with the ability to utilize the house and decorate, build a family. More of a sandbox style.

Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas, folks!

There definitely seems to be a demand for some type of free-roaming mode, although there's quite a few versions of such a mode floating around.

Our priority is on getting the game itself in good shape first. After that, we might investigate our options when it comes to new features.

For example, even though we designed Lake to be a relaxing experience, I would personally love a "time attack" mode in which you must deliver a number of parcels as fast as possible! :D
