Why is this game so creepy?

Every single time I launch the game, I feel kind of creeped out, as if something is missing or if im being watched, does anyone feel the same? I've experienced the same with Garry's Mod, but there is a reason to that and its because of the HL2 assets but why this game?

I don't feel like I'm being watched when I play PPG. I feel like the player would be the one watching.
And yeah, it's probably creepy from zooi recording ambience in the sewer pipe.

sorry to necro post but I concur with OP, especially when playing on abyss. being down at the bottom of the pit with that ambience droning on in the background.. it's such a weird feeling.

I feel the same thing in gmod like a ragdoll is posing and out of nowhere it disappears when I turn around and something spawns, it's an example, it didn't happen to me obviously
