Animations and Unrealistically Powerful Guns
This discussion is more or less just me throwing out some concerns I have with human reactions and damage models; mainly looking to see if people agree and would like to see changes with these functions.

Personally I don't like it when the characters curl into a ball when being shot, typically when you're shot you won't really feel anything for a quite a bit due to the adrenaline and pure shock, and it kind of feels weird how the humans just curl into a ball if they simply stub their toe. I feel like, if possible with this engine, characters would reach to grip their wound with one or both of their hands. If that's not possible at least make it so they don't immediately curl into a ball upon taking the slightest bit of damage.

Transitioning onto my second concern, the guns in the game are incredibly powerful. A 9mm glock blows a foot wide hole into somebody's body and half of the time tears out enough flesh to the point you can see a human's entire rib cage. A lot of the weapons in game are relatively low caliber and have an average of 2,500 feet per second (at least in reality). There should be a slider in the options to tone down ranged weapon damage (in terms of how massive of a hole it creates in somebody) or entirely tone down the amount of damage for all the weapons in total.

Of course I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I would prefer to have things like these into the game to make it feel a lot more natural and realistic (hopefully that doesn't come off as creepy, haha).

Adding onto what I said about average bullet velocity, I forgot to go into detail as to why I mentioned that. A bullet going that speed, unless it's a .950 JDJ or a slug at point blank, shouldn't be able to blow a hole in flesh any wider than 2 - 3 inches. A glock 9mm's entry wound would be tiny, about the size of the actual bullet. The exit wound should be at most 2 inches wide instead of an entire foot in diameter. Such is the case with most other weapons in the spawn item menu (that use live rounds, not lasers) aside from the sniper rifle and shotgun.

you forget that bullets rarely even exit.

Yes if they actually do end up exiting that would be approximately how large the exit would would be. Although it depends on where you fire.

i agree i want to see my victims bleed to death slowly instead of instantly dying to a chestshot by 22 longrifle that went through a bunch of wood after traveling across africa

i agree with most of what you said, though, this game was never meant to be that accurate to real life. all weapons, effects, damage, reactions are over the top.

I understand that isn't meant to be entirely realistic but it would be neat to have a slider in the options menu that lets to configure the amount of damage and penetration force ranged weapons have.

Also another wonky thing is when you make people weightless they still fall to the ground, and when they bump into things they start flinging themselves around and then break their necks. Is there going to be any fix for that in the future?

+1, I've always found it weird that a single shot from a glock cuts one's foot in half, or when an Assault Rifle turns a person into a skeleton, in reality this wouldn't work like that. Also the bullets rarely exit.

I must heartily agree with everyone in this post.
