how do I give someone clothing

so I downloaded a bunch of mods that included like hats and vests and stuff, but pressing activate on them doesn't work

you need to put the clothes on the person while the game is paused and press alt + f4.
I know it is very time consuming, but zooi said he will try to change that, but it is very complicated to code

The game can sometimes crash if you are very unlucky, but it is only in the first attempts. happened to me, and I tried 4 times until it worked and then it didn't crash once

You throw them against the appropriate body part.
They can not be unequipped, saving works, but spawning them ruins the clothing.
Frankly, I don't use it for these reasons.
