Game with similar feel to this?
I really enjoyed the "game feel" (how the controls feel moving, fighting, and flying around) - anybody have recommendations for games with a similar "feel" to the the controls?

The first thing that comes to mind is Zone of Enders 2. Any others?

I haven't played the series before but from what i've heard the "prototype" games are very similar to this

Yeah, not the same flying-mechanics but otherwise Prototype is a game pretty alike this one.

Anthem has great flying mechanics feels as good if not better. I don't like shooters but I play that game from the excellent movement and co op. Earth's Special Forces is a mod that has some great flying, it's very dated but the multiplayer is unlike anything else even to this day.

Dark Void is an older game with great flying mechanics, well as Just cause 3(with the air fortress mod that gives you the jetpack)

Oh I forgot to Mention the ultimate superman game, Megaton Rainfall

I've had issues with Megaton Rainfall (absentee dev after a game-breaking bug, which led to Steam giving me an out-of-policy refund). That said, for those people who CAN play it, it's a really solid game. It is first person, unlike this game, but it's good at it... assuming it's actually playable for you. When I first got it, it was a really fun game, and if it weren't for just how poorly the dev has handled my repeated attempts at getting in touch with him, I might have considered picking it up again to see if he's managed to accidentally (since he hasn't admitted it exists to fix on purpose) gotten my crash to desktop bug sorted.

If you like Zone of the Enders, it's probably worth looking up Project Nimbus as well. Mechs aren't as "high-tech" as the Orbital Frames in ZOE but they're pretty fast paced and it's fun - original release of the game was extremely floaty and a bit lacking in responsiveness with the controls, but it's been tightened up quite a bit with the complete edition release (made by a different studio).

If you're looking up Prototype, I'd also recommend looking at Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker. It's a multiplayer team-focused game, and the big draw factor for it for me isn't the theme (I have very little investment in Naruto but a lot of friends like the franchise which has led to me getting several Naruto games), but the movement mechanics. It's not flight but if you're good at handling yourself it sometimes feels like it might as well be. It's almost up there with the PS4-exclusive Spiderman game, and the main thing holding it back is level design, not game mechanics. Has some netcode issues as well, though, so that's worth considering too. That said, if you have a PS4, the Spiderman game is worth a look too. Or you could grab Sunset Overdrive (it's a lot like Infamous, which got a lot of hilarious comparisons to Prototype back when the originals of each franchise were showing up). And maybe the Attack on Titan games (I'd recommend skipping the first unless it's heavily discounted and you want cheap), but they are very "one trick pony" with their gameplay - maybe try out the demo of AOT2 first.

If you want something that's more about just the feeling of raw speed, you could probably give Vanquish a look. Or possibly almost any of those "antigrave racer" games out there - I'm a fan of Redout and Lightfield (Lightfield has parkour spaceships... it's weird).

Also for a few options with a slightly less "serious games" note - AER: Memories of Old, Feather, and Superflight are all simple, fun, flight-for-the-sake-of-flight games. AER is the only one of the 3 where you can do anything of value on the ground, and the closest of the 3 to having gameplay that's actually based around a storyline.

Thanks for taking the time to write out all of these games and explanations. I'll check some of these out!

100% megaton rainfall, that game is essentially Superman simulator without the laser vision.

Oddly enough, I’m also gonna recommend LEGO Batman 2, LEGO DC Villains, and the LEGO Marvel games.

Mainly the first 2 LEGO games I mentioned, simply because they literally have Superman in it, with a full open world to fly around in.

The gameplay reminded me heavily of Saints Row IV after you've unlocked all "power-ups". Open world, flying, super hero attacks and all that. Maybe check that out.

This may not be a popular opinion but honestly I highly recommend the Superman Returns game. The movie may not have been great but the game was really cool. You get combos that allow you to teleport punch similar to this and it's a full length game obviously. From what I remember it's on the PS2 and 360 so you could easily emulate it if it's available. :steamhappy:
