Having a really hard time beating the Fire Boss
Any tips? I think part of the problem is I didn't notice I could switch the language to English til after all the tutorial screens were done. So I learned nothing from the first boss fight and mostly relied on trial and error.

And while the mechanics seem identical, the Fire Boss is so much faster than the green energy boss. He destroys the city faster. He flies WAAAAAAAY out ahead of my ranged attack range, my ranged deathblow doesn't auto target him, and he seems to take much more punishment to stun him enough to be melee'd. I keep wondering if there's some vital part of the boss mechanic I missed out on in the tutorial.

I know that problem too, sadly I had no luck beating him. though fighting him at S level did let me get him down 3/4 before he wrecked the city

I played on my friend's computer. He's at SSS and I could only get him to about half health.

I do agree the jump in difficulty between nuclear and fire is a bit much

Thought maybe the Superspeed buff from the electric transformer would help, but it's immediately nullified when you start the boss fight

After dizzying and rush-punch the guy a few times, turn off boss-targeting and quickly extinguish one or two fires nearby while he's recovering. Quickly turn back boss-targeting and chase the boss again. Rinse, repeat. You will be able to beat him after a few tries.

Yeah, the little hazard icons on the map when you pick them up restore city HP. I only figured it out from trial and error against wind guy, since I could beat him no problem anyways

The next one is even more bs lol

I can clean up the little fires he leaves around? I thought that might be an option but when I flew over to one the first time, no button prompt to extinquish it appeared so I just went back to the fight. Must be a mechanical explanation i missed in the tutorial. What do I do exactly?

use a ranged attack on them, that will extinguish them. You can even do it from very far away. You have to aim with your camera but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy. I haven't beaten him yet but that's the gist of the fight. Range attack boss, rush 2x, while boss recovers range attack fires.

Discovering you can extinguish the fires was how I finally beat him. Now the lightning guy is a different challenge lol.

For anyone who's playing with a controller, switch to mouse and keyboard, it is soooo much easier to beat him.

Yeah putting out fires did the trick for me. Haven't even tried the next boss yet. lol

Please note 2 things.

Ranged Attack:

You need to spam ranged attack to stun the boss(just chasing the entire time without ranged attacks will be far harder to stun him). Now for watever reason the controls seem to be a tad buggy with ranged attack, if you use ranged attack keybind(triangle on ps4 controller) after you have used the melee attack(Square on ps4), it will also melee attack/chase the target.

As such you need to cancel the dash midchase with jump(with X on ps4 controller) and then ranged attack.
Or speed burst with (LB on ps4 controller) while flying and manually get close to him and then ranged attack when you're close enough to hit him.

You can Heal the City's HP:

You can destroy the toxic/fire/electric things on the City(by flying into it or ranged attacking it) to heal the city's hp.

So far I defeated the first 2 bosses pretty easily after I learned how to use ranged attacks, (I never even needed to heal the city). The 3rd boss however is a different story, hes far harder to stun and does sooo much dmg to the city that so far I have been unable to beat him.

Just for non-platform-specific control inputs:

Melee - rushes into boss and initiates melee attack. Locks you into melee mode. Best used ONLY when the boss is stunned.
Ranged - if not locked into melee mode, fires ranged attacks. Best used when boss is not stunned. Also able to be used to destroy hazard points the boss places.
Jump - when on the ground, you jump. If you're already in the air, it toggles flight mode. If you're in melee mode fighting a boss, it *DOESN'T* cancel flight, but instead cancels melee mode. When boss recovers from stun, use this before resuming ranged attacks.
Speed - on ground, you sprint, in air you enter speed flight mode. Also combos with melee for a speed burst when sprinting (which rips through non-boss enemies like you're the Flash) and with ranged attacks for the "deathblow" special attacks when you're at hero rank A or better. Ground deathblow is a supercharged air fist attack, aerial version is a massive version of a normal ranged attack - BUT the aerial version can't be aimed vertically, it always fires straight and level. Have to be at the same elevation as a boss to use it on them.

I beat the game in 3 hours, the fire boss is nothing compared to the electro boss. You don't have to heal the city or anything like that, just stun him, shoot 15-20 projectiles and then beat him, if you have good timing you can stunlock them over and over again.
