Yan Empire seems too OP
Their skills have ridiculous damage and unmatchable passives.

It was not a game that was balanced between factions from the beginning, but it is irritating to see our allies being swept away by overpowered skills.

It looks like it needs a patch, though.

Thanks for the feedback - will forward to the team for review regarding any necessary balance adjustments.

Honestly I think I've been saying this for a long time but the best generals/skills, etc need to be toned down. The gap between the best and the worst should not be too big, it's just not fun when it's too one sided.

This gap is what makes collecting heroes fun. If say capturing faction leader, usually lower level than your starting roster, was not a big power gain, why bother instead of simply using randoms? Picking which kingdom to conquer to steal its heroes is part of the fun.

For player starting weaker matters only early game since you can easily steal heroes from defeated factions to even the odds. That is to say, playing something like Brunia on Hell is initially a real hell (I did win that) but after conquering 10 cities or so it's all the same how you started.

I basically agree with that.

But the heroes of the Yan Empire are far beyond fun. The final force (4-star) was eliminated by one skill of them. When their Lv was 3~4.

This level of overpower is not fun but an area of irritation.

I need to try fighting Yan, might take a bit since I started Hell Herricido which is very far from Yan

You should try the new Light Elves; zomg, op.
Best hero instant kills the strongest enemy hero twice per battle.

I already conquered them. That skill was also grim, but it is easy to kill a mage hero by many archers. But Yan Empire heroes are hard to win like that, because they have so many critical heroes.

The light elves leader is quite strong but I've noticed he's either bugged or picks percentage rather than flat HP because in my test when I went instantly vs the Constante it fired on Caranthir rather than Marcus Felix or Cronus Augustus. If it's percentage he'll most likely kill some possibly insignificant archer or mage and thats it. With his high cooldown and fairly low HP it is likely you can kill him before he gets a second shot. Either way he still seems less scary than Delantis who will very likely kill two heroes and their squads - if she's allowed to fire and then cause malice with normal ranged attacks and boost her squad, rangers that is the best kind of units, a lot with passives. He also won't be able to tank entire armies for long like Marcus Felix or Lenna or Landis and probably some others.

Yes, he's one of the top tier murderers but there were and still are some scarier freaks that could murder armies with skill shots and/or also be tanky.

This is China's faction, what were you waiting for? xD

I hate the River Shadow Ability for now. I was doing quite well as the nation south from Yan but that thing completly wrecks me.

The developer is Chinese. Seriously what the ♥♥♥♥ are you expecting.

I agree, their skills wipe out entire armies on their own (on lower unit levels). using auto battle always yielded better results then trying manuel battle.

ohh buying the DLC makes the game less fun? alright avoiding it then.

Having finished hell run as Herricido and checked abilities of heroes it seems that:

The strongest faction is Ikarus, the light elves. They start with mighty heroes, 2 SS rank mages, 1 S rank mage and the faction is focusing on magic units and gets a big passive bonus to investment. They are also lawful which is the best alignment.

Yan is probably 2nd tied with Lanlerner. They seem stronger in combat but their tech tree is somewhat lacking. Neutral is so and so alignment. It's funny how Constante is sandwiched between those monstrosities. Calling them still easy might be a stretch.

Herricido is clearly stronger than other Dark Elves. Arum Ericant is top tier hero as well and possibly better than the Yan SS cavalier but overall don't seem particularily overpowered. They have cool hero design and Arum is possibly my favorite hero now (not the strongest but still good when played right). They are dragged down by lack of heroes with boost for offices, lacking tech tree and the worst chaotic alignment.

I don't have much to say about Japanese faction. They are fairly strong too. Probably very similar to Yan since you can invade Yan to assimilate their heroes and Yan is very likely to assmiliate them first too.

All in all, DLC adds 4 very powerful factions making the game much harder. Their translations are quite bad but it's not that important. They got nice hero art (looks) on the other hand, imo better than vanilla factions. Is that what you want to happen in your game? Take your pick, I personally enjoy the difficulty increase due to super strong factions for AI.

The release did a good thing compared to beta in making old overpowered heroes somehow unique and not so insane. Look at Delantis. In theory she can wipe 2 squads on her own with one skill shot but the cooldown is so long that it rarely matters and can be stopped when used by AI. The same thing cannot be said about light elves and Yan who have shorter cooldowns for similar levels of destruction.

I find that problematic as well. If I don't rush them and the new elves, they seem to spiral out of control while turtling. Kind of the same problem from previous versions, the AI seems to not pay the correct upkeep for higher level troops. Since you decided to give them insane heroes as well it's kind of stupid.
Maybe I just play wrong, but for years I never got real problems on hard, Now normal is allready a stretch depending on the specific start and its not possible to sustain 15 high level heroes while owning something like 40% of the map with multiple T3 cities...

Edit:
For clearification an example:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2797711615

With full ranks the income is -50k, I only sustain this due to the new AI trade ambitions + Items. This wouldn't be the problem but since all (!!!) AI kingdoms (even the smallest ones with 2 cities) get billions of gold they slowly outrank me troopwise and widdle me down. My lvl 6 highest tier horsearchers just get shredded by Yan crossbows...
