2 player or 4 player PvE?

This game looks like it would be amazing to play with a friend or two. Perfect feeling of being isolated with a couple buds out in the middle of space, managing your fleet, avoiding the aliens, etc. Make it happen!

I put this game on Wishlist without even checking to see if it had Co-op - I assumed that just from the description of the game itself... why would you NOT have a multiplayer element in a game as this??
Herby urge the dev's to consider adding this feature to the game... game-play wise it seems like a shoe-in?
Anyway - here's hoping... fingers crossed.

Why are Egosoft games for solo use only? If you can answer this simple question, you will understand.
If you are looking for a great co-op, then try Avorion.

that was the statement of a dev in another thread

The early access release will be single-player only. We may add co-op support in the future, potentially featuring 4 vs. 4 players or a similar setup.

I hope not. Games with a multiplayer component tend to be very shallow if not downright annoying on the SP content.

I remember one of those 3rd person shooters some years ago, those souls-likes but with guns and stuff, being "co-op recommended", and in single player they were were quite difficult because a bunch of parts and even bosses were tuned for at least 2 player teams.
