Lost in Limbo (5 hours achievement)

So, I know this requires being in game for 5 hours (menu not counting), but I'm curious if anyone knows, does it have to be 5 consecutive hours? Or can be done on and off over time?

This was a decent game with a very interesting story, but the replayability and these achievements has significantly ruined it as an experience.

Are you sure? I've done over 5 hours but in multiple sessions and I haven't gotten the achievement because you're meant to stay in the game for a whole 5 hour session.

I'm sure. My total playtime is 5.6 hours, and I definitely quit the game after the first playthrough before doing it a second time.

The .6 hours came from me being sat on the menu for awhile.
