I saw the scarf and never showed it to anyone and the dialogs spoilerd it for me because it gets mentioned in some dialogs even if i dont show it to someone. Evene Ced can be talked to about the scarf even if you dont show her.
In a way like "I'm sorry what happened to Dusty"
