Little annoyed at how confronting ivo plays out
You just let your daughter leave even after this, no duel, no divorce, just backs off. Same thing goes with the wedding party, "vows were made and must be honoured" and the kings just like "well ok, gotta respect traditions." When you have the choice to break with traditions on multiple accounts.
I was thinking this was the reason why he doesn't aid you in battle and why she ends up getting killed but aparently not.
I understand events play out like that to develop the story, but why even have the option if its not going to affect anything? When other choices effect the story significantly.

The choices are just inconsistent imo.

Well, agreed. I wasn’t exactly sure why. Actually I got a bit confused on the ‘rules’ of the world. I found the setting to be consistently medieval -which I liked- till one thing just tumbled it down.

You act as if your daughter is Ivos possession -quite medieval. Husband beats the crap out of his wife, no one blinks? Medieval again. Looking fo a MALE heir? Yup. Arranged marriage proposals right and left? Medieval. Then suddenly the opposing King is ok with a love affair of our daughters? And I can let my daughter run off with a girl? If I can do that why the heck can’t I punch Ivo in the face? Or at the very least burn the little bastard at the stake in the end? There are many creative ways to kill the wife beating / witch burning / lying/ conniving lil pricks.

I would have preferred if you could try and rescue her but your attempts failed, rather than you do nothing. Or that it’s clearly spelled out that you can’t.

Agree.
Why is there no medieval option in the punishment of Ivo. Because of this I chose to let him rot in the dungeon for the rest of his life because it seemed like the less humane option. Also I'm pretty sure a dark magic ritual to get yourself a male child is pretty taboo as witches don't seem to be widely accepted in your own realm.

I was actually watching a British history documentary just before I started the game. Such creative people! Such fun things to inspire the devs!

Seriously though there should be at least the option of burning him alive. which he very much deserved.

Hey there! I think a lot of the inconsistency here is something that makes Eryk very human - throughout the first parts of the game he tries his best to support his kingdom in a traditional sense, but that slowly wears away showing the love he has for his family above tradition and his not wanting to devolve into the monster that Ivo became - but it's all up for interpretation for sure!

A character may be inconsistent, a world shouldn’t be. Not that much. I wasn’t bothered by Eryc’s letting his daughter run off with a gf, at that point as you put it I just wanted the girls happy. But I was bothered by Maya’s father talking about it as if it was cool. The social setting, traditions, whatever are not clear. And while coddling my two younger daughters I do nothing about the oldest one that is abused? Makes no sense. As the OP put it you’re not stuck that much on tradition. And tbh if I were the king I’d be sending assassins over to Ivos. We should have at least had the choice even if it fails for story purposes.

-Oh you love Maya? Great! Be happy! Oh you want a bear? No prob! Break down the place playing with the bear too cause I love my girls. Btw your sis is getting the crap beat out of her, stitching together her dead cat and practically under house arrest. And I’m doing absolutely nothing about it.

He should TRY. Even if he fails he should at least try.

Love the game. Just nitpicking about the story. :D I did like how Eryk evolved, after Ivo I’d never think of marrying off another girl unless she wanted the guy.

Hahah I can understand that! I'm glad you enjoyed the game regardless!

Logically and politically it doesn't really make that much for ivo to burn his wife at the stake either (especially without secureing an heir first), I mean sure you're going for the Joffry Borathian/religous zelot angle and it does give an interesting motorvation for the player/character. But as your adviser points out that he stands to inherit your kingdom.
Such cruel of a supposed political ally would cause war and open rebellion of his own subjects, not to mention he'd never be able to secure another royal marriage again.
The royal trial segment makes no sense if you're just going to be betrayed regardless, keeping his wife alive as a hostage to ensure compliance from the player/character would have made much more sense. Then have the player/character attempt a rescue or somthing which provokes a war and after the news of a male child Ivo THEN burns your daughter at the stake.

After playing the game I found that I should have just not played the game for the happy ending. Forcing me to hand the daughter over to Ivo to fight a wrongly perceived enemy was the event that triggered all the bad ones. But alas I've played it and the world is doomed.

God, can someone PLS tell me is there a way to save Lorsulia. I WOULD LITERALLY DO ANYTHING FOR THE HAPPY ENDING.

I felt the same. I even had hope with the way the ending turned out/was phrased maybe there was a way to keep the cat, and not confronting Ivo, etc to save her... but after looking before attempting seems not.

unfortunately you can't, the death of Lorsulia is a story element, it can't be changed.
FK ME. I'M GONNA TRY IT AGAIN.

I think the whole thing about Ivo is that he's off his nut so he wont be considering the best political option especially because he has an army larger than any of the others combined he probably just doesn't care at this point.

Yeah I get that but hes a groomed prince, and he acts as such, (gets drunk at his wedding and says farther thinks he should make a speech). He'd have other lords to deal with to muster such an army and "I am the king" isn't gonna fly in a feudal society, especially not from a newly crowned boy king.
