Was the scarf that I got from my daughter poisoned?

I finished my playthrough. And I never gave away the scarf that came from my enemies kingdom. I had this idea in the back of my head that this guy was evil and he sent this scarf so I'd give it to someone with a slow poison that would kill them later..

so this is a spoiler:

I hate to tell you this but... the scarf is Dusty the cat.

Because you provoked Ivo up on the wall, he decided to get revenge by killing Dusty, and turning Dusty into a scarf -- then sending it to you. If you had shown the scarf to Cedani, she would have realized and told you. But since you didn't show Cedani, you just carried the scarf around with you and didn't realize...

I feel bad telling you this haha

Wow, I did the exact same thing you did and never gave it away, considering the timing it arrives with I was just too suspicious.

I thought the same thing but gave it away a few weeks later its not poisoned but its some joffrey borathian level stuff.

Wait, so if you acquiesce to Ivo on the wall, will he leave Dusty alone?

If you say nothing on the wall -like absolutely nothing to Ivo- Lorsulia says Thank you and Dusty doesnt get mailed to you. She does warn you that speaking up will make things worse for her so I kept my mouth shut in my second run and got no Dusty.
