You really know how to demoralise me. I'm at the last leg of this game and I need to take a break. So many bosses that when defeated, turn around and say " Nuh-uh, that didn't count! I'm actually much stronger!" Then they either decide to concede or be deus ex machina-ed. Even though they were beaten fair and square! Then when you do fight legendary forces that could WIPE OUT ARMIES it is all like " Sorry LITERAL EMBODIMENT OF DEATH you gotta fight a little weak girl and her friends because you aren't at the power level of musicians and merchants that just don't think the world is worth saving." The final straw for me was having the main Big Bad kill stolen.

Every act's final boss would have resolved themselves. The main goal of the story would have resolved itself. We only made things worse. The only good we did was maybe convince mothman to do better and he might have come to that conclusion regardless.

Act 4 Spoilers
If Alice and her friends do not confront Elvirus, the citizens of HorrorVale become ship fuel and Elvirus is free to take over the Earth. You can see this in an alternate bad ending if you fail the Game Show. You absolutely did do a good thing. Femur Breaker only got the final hit because Elvirus was weakened.

Act 3 Spoilers
Similar to this, Leonard only got the final hit on Tojoro because he had already been weakened. Tojoro already defeated Leonard and froze him previously to get into the lab. If not for Alice and her friends, he would have grown more powerful and caused untold destruction.

There is alot that doesn't make sense to me. Like wouldn't Alice? leave the underworld if she stayed at the blood bank. We also dismantled all of her protection. All the people of the valley being abducted, including Pierre who is attached to Tojoro. Wouldn't they panic, supercharge Tojoro ? Who is then in side the ship with his new mask army. Would he then be a match for Elvirus or at least weaken him to the point that the band can do their thing? Then they are both either defeated or severely weakened?

I am disheartened. Major victories feel hollow. I cannot win against so many bosses unless someone else beats them for me.

I think such a hypothetical would make for an interesting story but it ultimately isn't this story. Elvirus was defeated by Alice having the help of all the towns people and Creepies and Scaries. It was a group effort of everyone coming together.
