The puzzles chest are surprisingly easy sadly. The number ones are a maths puzzle, figure out the common path to get answer. for example, above chest will say 5, 25, 125, 625 (the pattern being 5x the previous answer, 5 x5 = 25 x5 = 125 x5 = 625) The first number off the chest might be 6 (This is the static number that you apply the pattern too, x5) The pattern won't always be a multiplier, it could be an addition or subtraction(That is all I've come across so far anyways).
The letter ones are even easier, count how many letters between each letter on the chest and follow the pattern from the static letter off the chest (Always the first letter is the static one).
The traps are frustrating but have an easy solution, when you talk to the blessings statue at the base and ask it "What do these blessings do?" it gives you choices of blessings to apply to your character based on class such as warriors, rogues and rangers and mage and a 4th option of others, say yes to the others and you will come across a blessing that makes you immune to traps, which you will get from blessings through the maps or later can roll onto items when they are blue or better quality while at the base.
While it's partially true for the yellow gems, here's how gearing up works in dungeon mode :
All items will have an item level (not a level requirement!) and every pieces of equipment will have bonuses based on it's type. Like, "of the mage" items will give you +% arcane and elemental damage and, as you progress through item levels and quality, some other stats will show up on those items aswell such as a bit of extra mana, % crit, etc.
Say, if you are lvl 10 when you enter a zone, all the monsters of that zone will be level 10 and will likely give you items of level 5-15. If you level up to 13 while still being in the zone you entered at lvl 10, be aware that any monsters that will spawn (like the slimes or the monsters from the cursed stones) will always match your current level and the item levels of their drop will adapt accordingly.
At the beggining, most items will have no stats at all ... but, the blue and purple ones can be blessed once you are in your base to give you some nice extra buffs to help you kickstart your leveling. Some blessings can be acquired multiple times (they have an "infinity" symbol) while some others are more powerful but can only be acquired once. You will have to sell or re-bless the item with such blessing for it to appear again at the statue.
To consistently get purple items, you will need to start a campaign at difficulty lvl 10 at least, which will guarantee that every equipment you will drop will be of purple quality. It will become increasingly harder to survive the "trash" mobs since their groups will be better, faster and stronger.. I highly recommend that you get the blessing that allows you to sprint without consuming stamina so you can quickly escape tricky situations. (especially the blessing which makes you immune to traps and AOE ... it's super good)
If you want to craft anything, you will have to buy the plot of land in the main base and build all the facilities there. Items can be blessed *and* enchanted/strengthened through crafting aswell but finding the materials is the tricky part ... sometimes, an NPC will sell higher level materials in one of the dungeons but it can take a while to find one.
The dungeon mode is really grindy but once you have a decent set of items and the base of your build figured out, it becomes quite enjoyable.
