I still like to use the horse, because it feels kind of better, more epic, than flying around.
But if what you say is true for medium armor and flight, then I think you're right.
What about being able to "upgrade" your horse to be faster? Like, training it or giving it high quality food.
That way your have your "normal speed" horse in the beginning but can upgrade it to be faster later on when you have the resources.
Couple this with a ranger/assassin's sprint speed and that ability to fast regen stamina you can literally unlimited sprint more fast than the horse, not much faster but I'd say it's about 10% faster.
Heavy armour users really don't have much and suffer greatly in this game in almost every aspect. Spell Casters have summons which are devastating late game (despite their behaviour being mildly buggy sometimes) and Rangers with 4 AGI well.. Incredibly overpowered in every aspect - can't be hit, even in CQC with a bow. I don't think either classes need a nerf, but I think the heavy armour users/warriors need a bit of a buff in comparison.
Which brings me back to the horse thing, even a 10% increase to bring it up to speed with a Ranger would be a bit more of an improvement, since well.. Outside of the start of the game heavy armour types will be the only ones to use the horse.
Upgrading is also an excellent idea though and I'd lean towards that more personally. Like mount equipment - artifacts or horse shoes or something.
Anyways, when you do get flight (3) and improved arcane bread you'll see what I mean about the mount. Work towards it ASAP it's amazing - hard to play other builds once you've had a taste for it. Till then grinding out them levels, your bestfriends are gonna be your summons as buggy as they can be sometimes.
Again though, excellent idea on the upgrading.
Oof, yeah, gear for your horse is a no-brainer instead of "special food" or "training". Don't know how I missed that. Also, a stable at your house would be a neat gimmick, albeit not really necessary, where your horse stays when you don't call it out.
Let's see what the Dev says about that :)
Upgrading horse would be tricky, I petsonally planned to go more the route of stables and different mounts with different stats, like horses, armored horses, tigers, weird creatures or even dragons. That will be added in the long run, not anytime soon :)
That definitely sounds awesome. Thanks for answering this so quickly!
I'm looking forward to it! :)
