Patch 1.3 (Dec. 19th) / "Improvements to AI"
So... I gotta say, I am not happy with whatever they have improved about the AI.
Before the update, I found Elite Races hard enough as is, and now I can't even take second. AI just straight up takes off at the start and I can barely catch up.

increase in difficuly is welcome but how its achieved is braindead, supernatural braking force that they get on street tire that is in range of width of 255-285 at most is moronic and even more importantly tank mode aka 300000 megatons of downforce that npcs recieve needs to go, races being so tight makes it fun but how its achieved is painful. and maybe its time to introduce 3 diff difficulty levels current one being medium maybe hard?

They definitely became somewhat challenging now. What car are you using, what club and class?
DatWut? Dec 20, 2024 @ 2:11am
C2 (295), Nissan 370Z, club is called "Western Sierra" I think?
It's the one in the western part of the map, so... name checks out I guess.
I also tried more races from Black Lotus, using the achievement Diablo GTR, and I also can't beat those races anymore. And those were the normal races, not the Elite ones.

Game needs a difficulty slider. I found the AI challenging enough before the update, but now... straight up not having any fun at this point.

Western Sierra was one of the most challenging clubs even before update. Now it should be even harder. Elite races actually require to have well tuned cars.

370Z and Diablo are not competitive cars.

Try following cars, for any class:
FK8 Civic
Golf GTI
Honda NSX
R35/R34/R32 GTR (T)
S15 Silvia with NA SR-20
S13 Silvia
180SX with SR-20
911 GT3 with SR-20
Supra MK5
BMW M4 F82
TT RS

Those are all good cars, that perform well even online or in TA.

The point is, this is f*ckin' AI. They shouldn't be this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult. I had ZERO issues with any car against AI before, now they're so overtuned, even cars I had fully built before just aren't worth using. This alone has made me uninstall the game as of today.

If I was racing players, sure, I could see using only the best cars. This is AI, I should be able to use whatever I feel like. Plain & simple.

Weird, I genuinely didn't have any problems with that whatsoever. Other clubs were harder for me.

Not competetive is one thing, but I feel like any car should be able to get you through a game's main campaign. If a car is absolute dogpoo for online... well, fine by me. I am used to the cars I like being actual hot garbo.
But the fact that the cars I could use before the update now can't even net me a second place... I dunno, I see a flaw in the "improvements" to the AI in that case.

Try following cars, for any class:
None of those are appealing to me in any way, except for NSX and FK8 Civic (though the Civic is a bit of a stretch already).

Is it just me that thinks this "improvement" has made them easier? I was playing elite races last night and they were acting like they had no brakes and throwing themselves into the treeline, traffic or off the mountainside

Why AI shouldn't be difficult? It's Elite races progression, it makes sense they're hard.

Plenty of racing games are unbeatable with wrong cars. ProStreet is a fine example. You can just ruin yourself inversting in a bad car. You won't stand a chance against Rudi Chen. 370Z can be decently setup.

Just because other games did it before doesn't mean it's good game design when this happens.
Personally I think every game should be beatable with any car. If the game gets harder due to the choice made, fine, but a game becoming unbeatable due to the wrong car is just bad.

As I said in another thread, having a difficulty option would be the best solution IMO.

Regardless of if you are right of not, there's nothing you can do except pick a different car. Or wait until devs rebalance, which may be anywhere between tomorrow and never. Some cars are just crap.
lets go play in the snow , and build a snowman in the middle of heavy traffic in town where all the cool drift spots are at... Yeah , that will stop all them drifters from coming around here... :steamsalty:

This AI needs some change like their apparent weight is way higher than mine, if thei give me a touch i fly away and if i try to ram tham is like to hit a bus with a fiat 500. But the worst is that sometime a AI car pops up from hell jus to dstroy my car
