How to turn of the automatic counter steering?
Is there a way to turn all assist of??
The car is steering for me every time i get in a drift.
Playing with a controller is frustrating and geves the feeling i am not in control..
Is there a way to turn it off ?? options are bare bones if u ask me

All there is to say is try to open your mind for it. This is what their titles handle like
Godme, what are ou talking about? This should be an option, it is a horrible experience with this auto counter steer. No need to have an "open mind" for this.

I cannot play this game due to this.

I am talking about the fact that this is a mobile game port and the whole game phsyics is based on this mechanic. Don't assume I like it. I don't, But on the other hand it's also not a dealbreaker for me or a reason why I "cannot play". This is actually a ridiculous statement.

The reason I said, try to open your mind is not because I wanna convice you guys that this is actually great, you just can't see it. It's because I'm like 99% certain that this is not gonna change anytime soon. As a first, because that's how CarX games always worked and secondly because there's currently so much more wrong in this game that needs fixing before that.

So don't get me wrong, I'm not against it. But as a first I'd like something done about cheating, economy performance and multiplayer content. After that I'm all for them to implement the option to disable this.

the assist isnt there if you plug in a wheel. Theres a lot of other issues instead. What im saying is they should be well capable of disabling it and in fact i remember it being an option in earlier titles

OOH I had no idea!

Yeah then it indeed shouldn't be an issue to implement the option at all. Maybe you can also sell your controller as a wheel to the pc with some tool.

I made the refund now for this reason. It's embarrassing not to have the slightest control of the drift. It does the whole game... BEAUTIFUL DISGUST

It is actually awfull and removes all sensation of control of the car, i play with controller also (i dont see this game as a game that deserves to plug the t300 in) what i try to do is, instead of absolutely release the direction, i keep it held at like 5%, so that kinda fools the auto countersteer, not 100% but well, at least increases a bit the control of the car, but yes, absolutely cr*p mechanic

I refuse to believe these kinds of posts are real, how would someone that played the last game suddenly complain about this one when they're identical physics.

I've had zero issue with the auto-countersteer. On controller too. What I do, with ANY game, is see how the physics are set, how the cars handle, how they react, and how to be fast in them. Usually takes like an hour or two to get good at whatever game I'm playing, unless I'm already familiar with other games from the series (The Crew 2 and Motorfest, CarX Drift and Street, any Gran Turismo, any Forza).

Also setup the controller to use manual (X/B or Square/Circle) w/ clutch (LB or L1), and A or X for the handbrake. Other wise I'd be having a harder time drifting.

Hate to be mean, but this sounds like a skill issue. This game is ultimately on the arcadey side of physics, and it ain't gunna change. If you wanna play Assetto just go play Assetto.

Bruh, no one is talking about skills here, with controller the game literally auto-countersteers constantly.... so when you want a wider angle you cant get it like you would with a realistic direction because as soon as you release the analog stick, the direction pushes the other way to the max, so there is no button setup or skill setup talk here bruh

oh I see the problem here, the way you play this game is you roll the stick you don't stab the steering left and right.

This is the difference between steering assist on and off. As far as i can tell its impossible to recreate the top image with a controller

No, you cant, unless you "fool" the game somehow for it to detect your controller as a wheel, your car will keep countersteering when no input received.

Exactly what I did. I'm using an adaptor which emulates a g27, then map the controller steering to it. It also smooths the steering because without the assist it immediately steers full lock and gets more understeer so you need to be more smooth on the input.

Nothing to do with physics or skill. Its an option the devs need to add to turn on/off.
