Norton Deletion of keyconfig.exe file

Hey all,

Just received this game as a gift, and while downloading and installing it, my Norton found a malware issue with one of the files and deleted it.

keyconfig.exe
Threat name: Heur.AdvML.C Locate

If the devs see this, you might want to look into the issue. At this point, false positive or not, I'm going to go with what Norton says.

This is a misfeature of Norton. Heur.AdvML.C is their "heuristic AI" that guesses about files it does not know, which leads to numerous false positives among files it does not see often.

The reason you are getting this is probably because few people have Norton and also have this game, so Norton goes "scary!" and labels it as a threat. Essentially Norton does not like you installing anything other than what the vast majority of users already have. It works wonders for protecting grans potato from accidentally installing things off emails, but it does not work at all for people who install lesser known games.

There is not a lot of stuff the devs can do about this, except trying to reach out to Norton to fix their ♥♥♥♥, since it is Norton being capricious.

Best solution is to get rid of Norton.

Well, thanks for the necro post, but either way, I guess I'm a 'grans potato' (which is Large Potato I guess?), cause Norton stayed and this game was deleted a year ago from my PC. I don't think I'm missing out on very much in any case am I? Ya, didn't think so.

Sorry for the necro, honestly. I misread the dates.

That said, what I told you is the truth. You really don't need Norton for anything in this day and age, it is a false-positive generator that doesn't do anything better than what your OS already does.
