Demo Feedback
So far I enjoyed the demo, the concept is interesting, with the way everything gets designed as cards. Overall feels quite atmospheric and fitting, the final scene with the dragon appearing even managed to give me slight chills.

The UI does not really profit by it, in regards of inventory management and stuff. Also some things can be easily done with keyboard only, other with mouse only and some stuff you kind of need both? Felt not very smooth.

The combat could use some improvement though. The maths are very basic and the skill descriptions sometimes feel lacking. If you play the wind skill, the damage seems to get split into 4 parts, while the last will get the dice bonus added on, which makes the skill a bit irritating, because it behaves completely different then most other skills. Also some other cards seem to split their damage in 2 parts, if they deal +8 or +10? And the Freeze skills suddenly uses a 20 sided dice instead of a 6 sided dice, which greatly changes the chance of getting the Freeze and makes the skill far stronger then it seemed.

Also the combat so far was far to unchallenging. If you only faced one monster you normally just one hitted it with Sheera and the boss also did not put up much of a fight. Getting this early a light spell with +10 is kind of brutal against a skeleton by default. Maybe the demo was made so easy on purpose, though I doubt, that making your demo to easy is such a great selling choice.

Also quite odd, why you changed the names of characters for the german localization, kind of irrritation when the narrator uses different names then those you get to read in the story.

Also a bit disappointed, that card backs of monsters do not seem to reveal stuff like weaknesses, so you do not have to memorise everything.

The card mini-game has some interesting potential, with the skills and events happening. It is even hinted on more rules in the full version, which is quite a bit aluring. But the AI is currently beyond stupid: discarding 21 points while all other rows do not even count 10 points each or putting a time out on the only guy who did not even manage to score more then 10 points. Even more the reward is far to expensive for the level of difficulty. Reviver every time? That feels like an far to easy grind.

Also I hope, it is only because of the demo, that they have so many generic NPCs who sometimes do not even fit the event that is happening. Happy old woman with a knife in my face talks about being scared of monsters. Same but different old woman with knife now has an ankle issue and needs to get transported to the Apothecary. This totally breaks the immersion for me, that the story so far was able to craft. More adequate cards should not be that hard to draw? It not like the NPCs need fully rendered 3D models?

Just played it through and agree with both comments here.
I enjoyed it... felt like playing it through and didn't want to turn off. Mainly I liked the aesthetic and table top feel... that's my 'deal' and would much rather play things like this than a 3D version of the same thing.... so they won me with the cards idea... and it was all simple to understand and worked well. Even though my laptop is nowhere near a gaming machine, and under spec, this ran very smooth so it's obviously well optimised. Oh, and the slight humour which was delivered 100% deadpan by the narrator was fun.
But yeah, it was a demo and they already made us wonder if the art was going to be repeated and the fights were going to be too easy... maybe that IS because it's a demo and they're still working on some art and balancing... I'll probably wait for reviews to come through... :nicedice:
Thanks for the demo, it was a pleasant time.

A comment I made mins ago xD

Just finish the Demo,

I agree with everything you said, But I going to add some of my own.

- I play a lot of JRPG and Turn base game and I found a combat sequence in this game took to long, Must be nice to had an option to speed the animation.

- If it not got an option to custom your own keybinds I found this game default control are really no comfortable. Press enter to move to place you select? How about Spacebar and N & M to select your item card deck? Kindda weird to me tho.

- Music are good like all of Keiichi Okabe's works, So please give us a proper sound slider, When Lyric came up and the narrator still going on it quite confused for me tho ;-;

- Ambient sound are not good enough for a game that rely on Sound to pull you in to the game's world. Not good enough.

- UI are quite chunky, I know they're try to keep 'Card's feels' but It just not really smooth plus it slow as hell right now.

- Also Voice for unique characters would be really nice... And if possible Morgan Freeman's voice pack pls xD

This is it for now tho xD
