Second visit lost shrine

I literally cannot kill a single shade in this place. They block 90% of the hits and they cannot be killed. Anyone know whats going on? I literally had 8 of the shades attacking me for a solid 10 minutes and not a single kill.

Did you try useing magic? like spikes from the ground are very good at stoping blocks
Or charge lance for 4+ hits

You can simply overwhelm blockers by holding down the heavy attack button. Certain words help with this too, i think.

Other tricks include dashing behind them and hitting from there, or as the person above says, using spells like Dark Hand or Dark Execution to interrupt their block.
