How important is the first part for the story?

By this I mean how important is it for the endings? Are there things you can do in it that affect the endings?
I just finished ending A and I know there are 5 in total. I finished the first part quickly because I thought there would be a chapter select, I was wrong.
Are there exclusive weapons or items in it?

I don't think there are any missable weapons. There might be some part 2 side quests that require having done part 1 side quests, and some side quests that are locked out once you hit part 2. But to the best of my knowledge you can't lock yourself out of any of the endings.

There are some good side quests in part 1 like the lighthouse lady one, but I'm honestly not sure how many of the decent side quests are lost when you go to part 2 and some of the side quests aren't that interesting. None of them are critical to understanding the main story.

It's is good to know that the story will not be changed from ignoring the first part. Seem like the achievements also will not be a problem.

There are indeed exclusive weapons to part 1 and you need all 33 weapons for ending C/D.
BUT you can buy all weapons you missed in part 1 in the weapon shop in the Aerie in part 2.
So nothing is missable.
