Did you actually collect all the weapons yourself?
The ending where you need to collect all the items is where I "quit". I just couldn't keep grinding the endings anymore and did not want to grind all the weapons to unlock them. From what I hear this is a very important ending and I haven't seen it yet. I am wondering if most people just use cheats or saves. Do most people actually grind them all? It has been so long that I probably don't remember all the previous story lol.

Side note: This was the last game I played that actually involves dedication/concentration I I am turning into a casual gamer help!

It's not hard to get all the weapons in a normal playthrough. The hard part is fully upgrading them. It's a massive grind to obtain the drops for upgrades. If you download the free DLC, you do get some additional weapons that can be upgraded instead though. As long as you hit the total required for "all weapons upgraded" it will pop.

yeah, i mean it wasnt particularly difficult. I just played the game and got it on my 3rd playthrough.

I found the 3rd playthrough more tedius than the weapon collecting.

That said tis still one of my favorite games.

Acquire the weapon isn't hard. there's only like one missable grind. most of them can obtained fro finishing quesr and buy from the shop

look up "replicant save editor" to unlock weapons if you value your time. from what I read and researched in preparation to get all the endings, literally none of the weapons are missable and it would be stupid if they were.

It's pretty easy. It's only 33 weapons. The rest of the series tends to have 60+.

Don't use a save editor. Some people just aren't willing to experience a game as intended and ruin the experience for themselve.:cancyman:

yeah my issue was I did not know it was going to be a thing so I never bought extra weapons from the store I just kept what I liked. Honestly next nier game I will try to find a guide on what to focus on to save me later haha.

It is funny you say that, when I was a kid ~12 years old I used action replays to beat pokemon DS games and use rare candies, spawn whatever I wanted, walk through walls etc.. It was fun as hell at first but man after some time it just taints the experience.

id rather use a save editor to get the gold for or even just outright unlock the weapons you can buy for tens of thousands (weapons that, for the most part, aren’t even that good) than sit there and grind out the slow ass drip feed until i’m sick of the game. i love the game, i just don’t think a degenerate, repetitive grind for cash is a very productive use of anyone’s time.
there’s also a difference between using a save editor to just zap yourself to endgame status (this may surprise you, but that’s not what i did) and just getting the weapons that i was never gonna use after purchasing anyways and then going out and finding the rest that are sitting in chests and in the pockets of NPCs as quest rewards. some people just aren’t willing to think a little bit harder about how you could use such a tool without ruining the experience for yourself. don’t use a save editor if you don’t want to, but use your brain and your best judgment.

It's not really a grind. A good portion of them you naturally just get as you progress the game or as fairly short quest rewards.
As for the ones you buy, I had enough gold from quest rewards but even if I didn't it probably would have taken about 20 mins of fishing Royal Fish to be able to buy them all. Also can make easy gold by just planting rice.

I think assuming you've finish Route A, you can get all the weapons pretty easily and while if you have no problem using a save editor that's fair enough but it would have absolutely ruined the experience for me and not been as enjoyable to get that achievement and go for that ending. For me part of my enjoyment of getting that ending was having to do stuff to get it, otherwise I would have just watched the ending on Youtube.

Every game where I used "unintended" methods to make the game easier, I started to get bored pretty fast.

Now I seek challenges.

don't worry bro, you can get them by simply buying from every store owner (and you will have to backtrack the whole game again, so you should just do it on the fly)

there are also some secret ones in specific boxes you can break in the game + some related to sidequests

just get a guide for these ones, the box one is really easy because as long as you are a compulsive box breaker, you probably already have them

dude it's literally a sequel to "Drag-on dragoon" it's meant to be boring and drag on at times. if you used a save editor you objectively didn't experience the game proper. the boring parts enhance the overall experience when the tragic sting of CDE occur. it's meant to give you negative emotions and that's not an experience for everyone and if that's you stop at ending B. if you're just gonna cheat go watch it on youtube since you care so much about time. or don't at all...

It's pretty easy to get those weapons. I needed only one to check on internet, rest was like... There is no way you miss them if you check every corner/crate and like to do some quests. If don;t like it, there is a lot of tutorials how to lay hands on every single one. In other hand upgrading them... Seesh, that can take some time. But if you like game, you will find it enjoable.
And don't look on mu hours play and achievements. I like to stay in town or other strange place, listen to music and then wonder if I saved the game... Then I go to save, and listen again xD
So... Yeah. If I would count my real play time, not "standing and listening to Devola singing" it would take... I dunno? 14-15hours of play? And I have all weapons, Ending C, almost all weapons upgraded to max. So there is like 2 endings to end.
Sooo... Yeees, I like to have it open just to listen music. It's heavenly.

Lil spoiler here: perserve your saves before you hit ending D, you might gotten a bit scared. It should return to you later but... You know. Better save than sorry ;)
