- Take your time for the first shades, as far as I'm aware, the timer won't start until you see the boss bar.
- Skip all cutscenes (this should be obvious, just mentioning it in case).
- If you're having trouble with your damage (here or in any other fight), try upgrading and using the Phoenix Spear. Also notable that you'll need Eagle Eggs for the upgrade, which you can only get before fighting Wendy (at the loot spawn right below the chief's hut).
- There's no point in attacking the boss at first while they still talk. It might take a few tries to find the moment, but you can start throwing spears once the shells open more wide (you can actually use the smaller blasts and shoot them continuously to see when you may hit).
- After the first cut-scene, where Nier and Emil tried to kill the boss, you can start running immediately. Just kite the white beam behind you. This shouldn't be an issue as long as you're not getting stuck. It should stop around the middle of the lower platform along the mountain.
- Run till the end and climb both ladders to get to the top and start running across the bridge (towards the chief's hut).
- By the time you arrive at the very top, Emil should start talking about hitting the back. Dodge through the bullets (don't stop to block or hit them, it's totally save to get hit once or twice, just keep dodging).
- Based on your weapon, words, etc. you should be able figure out the minimum amount of spears to shoot (think 4 or 5 is enough, maybe even less). Just shoot them through the magic projectiles, they won't block you.
- As soon as the shade starts moving again, rush back towards the other end of the bridge (away from the chief's hut!).
- While running, look down, this bridge crosses with the one below and with a well timed jump you can drop on the lower bridge. Double jump short time before landing to not get staggered (and to correct your fall, if you have to).
- Now just rush back to the entrance, finish the Shade, skip some more cutscenes and be done.
