Is it worth plating NieR Gestalt before this for the experience of seeing the original game released in the west and the different perspective of the main character before this one comes out?

slight spoiler but I think it's only in this revenant release, as soon as you start route B and go through the adult story ramble starting up, you can read mother's diary at home, which actually puts you into some sort of a survival mode against mobs in areas you regocnise with the character switched out for dad nier.

all he says is that he tells wiess he's had a weird dream though

I know there's a mod for this game that changes the dialogues and the model to play with the father, but the original looks interesting, kinda old, but good; there's also the original soundtrack that for some people is better than the remaster, for me they're both good and every piece has his heart.

Yeah. Dad Nier and Emile also seems to fit better.

Although teen Nier and Kaine works better there, so both versions have their pros

both are good, its just a change of perspective from MC. Play them both if you feel like it, but 2010 NieR is very clunky compared to Automata and the Remake. im stil hoping that maybe someday we will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ get the Papa NieR dlc because ♥♥♥♥ it why not??

Except that's super janky because A: The Character model is the same pre- and post timeskip and B: It doesn't work for cutscenes, you'll see the little boy nier in every cutscene C: Voicelines + subtitles don't match

Brother nier is the original and how the character was envisioned in Yoko taro. papa nier is just alternate version in order to appeal for western market since western love muscular old man

I don't know what with this papa nier is better than brother nier because they just same character. the only change is theri look and different

Story wise brother Nier is actually more make sense than papa nier while look like an adult but he talk and behave like a teenager. he basically teenaher in adult grown man body. I.e he throwing tantrum when Popila refuse to let Emil and Kaine enter the village. that's not 40 years old dude should behave

and then there's also the context of Nier is getting stronger and able to use heavier weapon after the timeskip which in papa nier case is not make any sense because he stays the same throughout the timeskip.
