No way to repair hull entering chapter 2?
So I just entered chapter 2, warped to new system after staying in SOL for the longest time and now I can't seem to repair my hull anymore. I lose more than I repair no matter what. I even have 2 upgrades to my EVA airlock and system functions are more than optimal, everyone is happy. Wtf this game sucks

Do you have the ressources available ? Are both your EVA supplied with materials ?

I've got the supplies but only one EVA airlock. Do you think it'll repair more with a second? Thought you could only build one

Hello, you can build them as much as you want while you still have the workers and energy for but it also increase the repair cost if I remember right. *Each add their amount of repear rate
Buildings limited to be one in the Tiqqun or limited per sector have a "x/x" indicator on the top right of their button in the building menu

You need at least 4 EVA up in normal difficulty to maintain the hull, not to mention the risk travel through debris too, so have one sector dedicate to space and four EVAs should be okay

Eventually 4, but not in chapter 2...

You need 1 EVA per chapter basically, there's no diminishing returns from the amount of them. Keep in mind that each opened sector increases the alloys you need to repair things, so open new ones only when you really need to. I remember failing only due to opening too much and running out of alloys.

With upgrades, supported work shifts (DLS policy to increase worker amounts in buildings), space tier 2 sector spec you can extend your time till you need more EVAs pretty nicely.

Yeah I just put in a second EVA airlock and space specialized the sector. It's eating more alloy but at least the station won't blow up. Only problem now is low on space and I don't want to open a 3rd sector.

1st sector usually specialize in space eventually.
2nd, mix food and pop

You should be fine with 2 EVAs and 3 sectors - that's usually how I end chapter 2 as well. If I feel brave I even open up the 4th and make it a recycling sector to try and get self-sustained at that point and not later. Making it through chapter 2 with only 2 opened sectors is quite challenging in my opinion.

It's also useful to keep in mind the efficiency of repairs. At fully repaired hull you will use more alloys for repairs - efficiency will be about 50% (lorewise it's something about being hard to notice the parts that need to be repaired). But at about 50% of your hull you will repair at max efficiency, thus making you alloy supply last quite a bit longer.

One of the juggling tactic is just to stop repairing for some time, let the hull get to 50%-20% (your AI will notify you when the hull is low) and then turn all EVAs on. That way it's the most efficient, but somewhat micromanagy.

Those are some good points, thanks for sharing.

Thats the way I kinda have it atm. Sector 1: Space and Factories, Sector 2: Food and Population
