I play on a 5 year old Laptop, full res, full detail, no problem.
Maybe your Bios; for your CPU with your Motherboard is not updated.
I had playable performance on a 1050 ti ( 4 gb Vram) with some lag. At 1920 x 1080p screen resolution.
Recently Upgraded to Used 1080 ( 8 gb not ti )
and performance is better now. So smooth.
The difference is Night and Day.
I don't see how you could possibly getting bad performance with a 4080 card you have that has 16 GB Vram. Unless there is something wrong with your GPU. Basic question do you have the latest official NVIDIA Drivers installed for that GPU?
Or perhaps there's another problem.
My CPU is Intel 8th gen Coffee Lake from back in 2015 or something. And it sucks.
But seems my 1080 is carrying all the weight of the game. And I got no performance issues with Ixion.
I'm using old slow 16 GB ram sticks, that came with the DELL.
However I am running the game on SSD. Do for modern games SSD is sometimes helpful to have.
I don't think, the problem is Ixion in your case.
There are badly rendered games like Returnal that makes even fast cards struggle at times. I cant play that without lag or stuttering on the 1080..
But your GPU should handle IXION no problem. . .
Maybe you have some 3rd party Anti Virus software or something else accessing your hardware it shouldn't. Uninstall stuff that maybe came with the computer. You should do more research.
I think this green road thing takes up CPU and Windows 10 is also using the threads for this.
so yea green highlighted roads under construction is what is triggering the lag. but technical explanation i dont know why.
If you already have a graphics card, try to safely turn off all the CPU display driver stuff that you're allowed.
could try to turn off some windows 10 processes. that might be, taking up read writes, and or cpu time . And a few added for whatever.
Disable Win auto Driver Searching
Disable Hibernation
Disable Prefetch
Remove Startup Delay
Reduce Hover Time
Speed up Menu Show Delay ( can get Claude AI, free tries, to make a batch file to do all that for you. I have one if anyone wants ).
Ixion settings, graphics or display: Full screen on,. disable sync . Set unlimited fps.
Might as well find away to turn off the windows news and interests feeds too.
Google the info for the RegEdit, to disable the ""Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) overlay"".
Restart the PC, and maybe turn off all Anti Aliasing in display settings in Game.
