IXION
Stuck in prologue
I am at the point where I have to transport the food and people from the urbanshanti to the titan. I have a cargo ship, checked the right boxes in the overview and now it just does nothing.

At the time I got the quest, my cargo ship was on it's way to mars to deliver stuff for a science quest.

I came back to this game after more than a year, because on release it wasn't really calibrated well. I do hope this problem I have is do my own fault and not just me coming back to an unfinished game.

Check the boxes for food, polymers, electronics and people. The cargo ship will then pick up anything that you find in the solar system.
As above, so long as the correct boxes are selected any transport that isn't already busy with something else will head out to grab either whatever is closest or whatever was set as a higher priority.

Can you give any more details than "it just does nothing"? The only reason a transport will sit and not respond is typically because it's waiting for cargo to be loaded to take to an already set location, but that sounds like it'd be unlikely unless you already found outer hope.
Could you provide a screenshot of the ship interface? With luck we may be able to spot something.
I'm not 100% sure, but if a cargo ship is allocated for supporting a Science Action on a planet or location, it will stay on it prioritized, until that project is finished. But I could be wrong.

Check for the Docking Bay, where that specific cargo ship is "anchoring". There could be a stalled (Science related) delivery for it. And that ship will wait, until it has it's full next load in the Docking Bay.

Thanks for the responses.

So, to clarify: I have one science ship with nothing to do anymore and one cargo ship that is 'standing by'. The cargo ship is simply hanging around the titan, with all the necessary boxes checked for the 'mission', i.e food and people. My current objective is to transport food and people from the usharbanti (I know that's wrong), but nothing happens, even though as far as I can tell and what you guys suggest, everything is ready for it:
- Checked boxes in overview
-Empty cargo ship with no current missions or anything in the hold
- A previous mission to transfer stuff from the urbananashalala went without a hitch.
- I have enough room on deck to store the food and people

A further reason for me to believe this is more a bug than something I am doing wrong (though I am human, so prone to mistakes) is that I send a probe to the only location I saw had spikes, waited for it to arrive, was told so by the P.A and then nothing. No further actions or mission, just 'your drone has finished at the location' (paraphrasing here) and nothing more. So I feel like I didn't follow the scripted events and so broke the game.
But I'll try fiddeling a bit more and see what I can do.

No screenshots though, but thanks for wanting to help out.

Have you sent a probe to find places? Check out Ixion Starter Guide[techraptor.net] helped me out for some things. It might help you. Don't give up. Once you learn how to use probes properly to find things, sending a mining ship to mine the resources for the cargo ship to retrieve will make things easier for you.

This video has a bit of a spoiler, but you get some needed things, and it helps to learn how to use your probes. I tried his layout, but had issues.

One thing, don't be afraid to start over. For planning sector layouts, there is the Ixion Planner[ixion.info].

I also sat around the Earth long enough to research batteries before using the Vohle engine.

I think I may know, at least, why your probe didn't find anything.

When you find an area where it spikes, keep looking about in such an area until those spikes change colour (and in this case also hit the top of the box they're in).
The spikes merely mean there's something to be found, not that you have located something that can be revealed by the probe. That's where the change of colour kicks in.

Otherwise I agree with White that it may just be easiest to start over.

If you do, then I would like to offer two pieces of, related, advice.
1) People don't start getting hungry until after you build a mess hall, so if there's anything you want to do that would take a bit of time do it before that.
2) Deconstruct the loading dock (you will get 100% of the resources it takes to build something back when you do this, yes, even if it was already built :steammocking:) and move it to one of the far corners. Some things can only be built against a wall and that thing is very poorly placed.

While I don't feel there is any need to sit around earth until at least batteries are unlocked, eh, to each their own as it's not like it doesn't work. It just be really boring, but at least it'd give you a chance to catch up on your reading.

I restarted the Prologue about 4 times before I finally hit on something that worked. One restart included losing the entire Tiqqun and having to go back to an earlier step. But, it is a learning experience.
