IXION
Why is the final chapter so bad? (Spoilers)
All the way until the final chapter, felt quite engaging, and had a proper storyline to it, however the final chapter with Romulus and Remus I feel is completely rushed, and no real thought went in to it.

My main gripe with the story is the fact that we have researched the Peronesi and its capabilities, yet - the only way for us to destroy it is by destroying the Tiqqun? Absolute nonsense. You're telling me that we aren't able to construct the same missiles? Drone swarms etc? Or even construct a large ship with the batteries on it? Force Vulcan / Large asteroids at it etc?

I understand the need to have a "dramatic" / "climatic" finish to the story, but it just feels underwhelming.

---

Other than that - I think the game is fun, but it's not replayable. I do hope they expand on it like Frostpunk, because there is so much more that can be done with this. Also I'd love to see spin-off's of this style of game.

End was ♥♥♥♥ sorry.
Yeah I got 800 science points but for what? No matter, 1 hour later you will destroy your Station anyway, so...

The rest was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ too.
My powerful enemy is in real a harmless bunny. It follow me to do nothing. I meet Aliens and my Crew have no interest on them.

Story Start was great. End was ♥♥♥♥ af.

Same here. I chose Romulus. After constructing shuttles and training colonists(3000), my whole population was 4230. Why no evacuation? Why all resources that i've collected so far was left on Tiqqun? Last chapter and only 3-4 voice monologues. And no cutscene at the end, just some static pictures.
The game is awesome, but last chapter is done lazy.

I had the same feeling... I felt some chapters are missing after the Pulsar activation chapter.

I arrived at the Lira System and after exploring some planets i was allready 999 on the develop resource (with all upgrades made (except one that is missing)).

All the chapter made no sense at all.. The story finishing on Remus or Remulus, made little sense to me...

And why the hiding of Remus from DOLOS to the administrator? I understand for the normal folks, but to the administrator? Why???

Also the ideia is to arrive at habitable exoplanet, but Remus is not human compatibile... Don´t give me that Genetic Conatus crap...

I finished both ways, and i felt that this game could have gone much further on the story...
Is like an unfinished sex night... we start strong and the... WTF happend? Allready done?

Also why destroy the space station/ship? Like we have decoy missiles, we could have real missiles... we do have nuclear capabilities on our ship...

This game needs a Directors Cut of somehow... Add some 2 to 3 more chapters (one killing the rouge AI for good), another for getting to a nebula or something, and a final one on the lyra system where we could have a timeframe before the tiqqun desintegrated in space due to accumulated damage...

Maybe creating a smaller spacestation if we choose not to join the aliens on Remus...
And doing that the cannon ending for Ixion Expansions or IXION 2...

The end goal was for humanity to survive... how about this... we could really arrive at Alpha Centuari, just to see that one of the starts on the meantime have exploded into a supernova with a spinning pulsar... that from time to time hit us or the planets, rendering this system not possible for colonisation... Maybe we needed to be jumping from place to place to create some triangulation for another close by star system...

There are endless paths for this universe to expand... The core is done, just expand on the lore and on the gameplay elements...

So it could force you into a binary choice and shove a green aesop in your face. "You either turn yourself into green space elves with no individuality, ambition, or technology who somehow photosynthesize or will repeat the exact same as before!!111oneoneelven". Having the TIqqun, the technology, and all would blow that out of the water.

Just finished the game and I am honestly disapointed. Would have loved a "not against the clock", we have to slowly dismantle the ship and move everything to the planet to build our colony.

I sorta get it, you build the UBER-Shuttles and those probably carried everyone down to the planet, maybe even some leftover crypods, maybe some leftover resources.

But it felt wrong, and I HATED it being against the clock, AGAIN!

Frostpunk is just incomparable better. The only thing Ixion really has going for itself is the setting, which I see as perfect. Post earth, end of humanity, generation ship / arch. Find a planet to colonize. That's awesome AF. But the implementation is rather poor.

There is still one jump left
The ending suppose to happen in another system
Maybe they can’t finish it in time and rushed the release

Dunno but someone spoiled the ending for me in another thread and now I dont have the heart to keep playing cause I know the ending sucks......

Being against the very slow clock wasn't a big issue to me. The sloppy Romulus ending could have been much better.

Build up a big city on Romulus. Exactly like you build buildings and roads on the spaceship. Mine and transfer a huge amount of resources to the planet. Send all of the cryopods down as a requirement. Have a certain number of colonists on planet. Transfer all of the crew down.

The building batteries requirement for the ending was kinda stupid. That is going to make the destruction from the collision much worse? You don't have any ability to figure out how to build missiles or other weapons?

They should design the game play as a time loop rogue-like survive city build game
Use the last jump to bring necessary tech and information back in time
So the next Tiqqun could seek another potential habitable planet in a new run
If failed you jump back again
You unlock different critical tech and find key person in cyropod in different run

I hope they can improve on the ending choices..but this was one of the most satisfying city builders for me in a long time

I thought the same thing. So much attention to detail, even people walking next to robots delivering things if you zoom in enough. I'll bet their publishers told them to wrap it up quickly, thus we are left with an unfinished game, poor ending, 80 page bug list, and the mystery of the "one extra jump before the mothership's hull is supposed to collapse." Reminds me of Battlestar Galactica series, if someone tried to end it a season early.

Hopefully development of this game will continue and the devs will be able to finish it in some DLC or something. This can't be the product they wanted to release with somewhere between a 6/10 and 7/10 steam recommended rating.

Maybe in DLC you will play Protagoras
So many years during Tiqqun first jump and it's back
So Protagoras should have more advanced tech and more sector space to play with
