Saves accumulating on hard disk - tons of memory
I save my games a lot, to try different things and whatnot. It looks like the games get saved in the folder: C:\Users\...\AppData\LocalLow\BulwarkStudios\Ixion\Saves. There are lots of folders here. If I right click/properties on ...\Saves, It's already up to 7 GB! Many of these folders have dates of saves that I have deleted from the in-game Settings menu. Why are they still there? Can I delete the folders under ...\Saves safely, why or why not? For the moment it isn't an issue, with time it will become a big one.

If you go to your library.
Right click on Ixion and select properties.
Under "General" check the option to store saves in the Steam cloud. Won't resolve your current issue with the 7GB but should take care of space issues on future saves.

Cloud saves option merely enables a backup copy, saves are still on your pc and if you are not careful when the sync pop up it will restore them after deleting.
I suggest enabling compression on the advanced folder properties for the save folder, should cut it down to a third of the size, while still having normal direct access.
Also they are all safe to delete, but if you want to archive just in case you can 'compress and delete' with 7-zip and it does it with an insane ratio. I did that after deciding to shelve the game and compressed the 1.5GB save folder to a mere 11MB zip file.

Pharos, that's awesome. You say, 'They are all safe to delete.' Under ...\Saves, there are a bunch of folders, and the names of those folders don't correspond to the names I gave to my saves. So how do I know what I'm looking for? I won't be archiving them. Thanks again.

You can delete saves from the game itself. Open "load" dialogue and there is a button "delete" under every save.

The negative number folders are the autosaves and the regular number folders are your manual saves, they are numbered in the order they were made. If you want to pinpoint a specific one, you can switch the folder view to Details, and the Date Modified column for a given folder will be the corresponding one to the date shown by the game for that savefile.
