Resources not delivered fast enough
I'm in late Chapter 3 with a food producing sector and a sector filled with non-workers needing 94 food. For some reason the food producing sector started saying that it failed to transfer resources and I'm sitting on a stockpile of 500 food while the non-workers sector has at most 35 food. I played with the transfer settings and added extra stockpiles to both the food sector and the non-worker sector to try and speed up the movement of food but nothing is fixing this. I can't get more food to my non-workers. They end up striking and everything goes to pot. It's pretty game breaking. Help!

Can you give us some screenshots? Like the transfer settings screen for the sectors in question especially.

Check road access. I had a couple of times that my roads on the first tile next to the sector wall vanished. That throws a big spanner into transfers.

Sure - Sector 5 is my food producing sector - https://ibb.co/94FXjRS
Sector 4 is my non-worker sector - https://ibb.co/YWkyc5S

Roads are good! I thought the same thing when this started!

Can you try to prioritize Sector 4 over others in Sector 5's settings, and try lowering Sectors 1-2-3's minimum stockpile to a reasonable amount instead of max stockpiles?

When I saw your reply I thought to myself what a fool I was for not setting the priority of the export. Of course this would fix it! I made ll the changes you suggested and let it run for a few more meal cycles. Still no love. My non-workers get maybe 40 food delivered over 5 cycles. Game breaking! I have over 70 hours in the game, never finished it yet. I'm so pissed that this is ending my game!

Well the thing is (some of this is just my theorycraft) the game probably adjusts what-to-export-where-and-when kind of calculations on its own, probably factors in the distance between stockpiles and prioritizes the farther somewhat. So if you want all of them run rampant with equal priority and vast stockpiles to fill, it probably leaves your Sector 4 for last, which will never get enough items till all others are fed up. (Think of it as a factory automation game where you build a constructor manifold, the latest machine gets its items after all others are satisfied. Probably this happens in reverse order here.)

What you can do (not to ragequit the game) is disable the Food tick on Sectors 1-2-3 until your S4 Food stockpile is satisfied enough, then turn them back on. Keep an eye on them for a while, you might need to repeat it a few times, and make sure you have some surplus in your Food production so that it won't end in a deadlock and fix itself in a few dozens of cycles.

... and GIT DRONING :p

This helped - I turned off food delivery to all sectors except for my non-workers and they got the food delivered. IMO it's not sustainable though and now other sectors are angry. I'm going to bow out of the game for now and see if the devs have updates for it. I really like this game - it's a good challenge but this resource transferring BS is BS. Thanks for all your help!

While trying my solution, try to time it better just after meal cycles for a few times. Will give you a buffer time window before they go starving and angry. If it still doesn't help, you either can't produce enough food or definitely need to throw in a few drone ports. Happy to help!

Oh and btw, unlocking Sector 6 with minimum infrastructure and a road through the side doors might help. Will speed up your food transportation to Sectors 1 and maybe 2 (depending on where your stockpiles are).

ive had a simillar issue where my food sector stopped delivering to my pop sector for no apparent reason
I messed with the request amounts and it fixed itself

From your screenshot i see that you have set the desired quantities to max in all sectors. If sectors don't need max then lower it. You only have a limited number of delivery forklifts until you add a dronebay.
Flin Fredstone Dec 26, 2022 @ 11:22am
Oh and sector 5 for foodsupply while sector 6 is not unlocked will have your delivery forklifts drive through sector 4,3 and 2 to deliver to sector 1. Until you have unlocked all sectors sector 3 for food supply would seem more suitable.

So, you all had good advice and it all came in handy. This issue was totally my fault for not planning better and after a few tries I finally got the food delivered. The issue was solved by the drones and was caused by multiple issues - moving the food sector to sector 5 without a better way of delivering it and without sector 6 opened for easier transportation. Thank you all for the help! -Joe

Sector 5 is sending food to all other sectors. Is there enougth transport? One small stockpile can send only 5 cargos at once (7 with upgrades) and until they return this stockpile will not be working - no transfering food to other sectors, no collecting food from farms, no sending food to mess hall.

I can see, you have 5 stockpiles in sector 5. And transport has to pass all 5 sectors to reach sector 1 and also move through whole station. It might happened that 2 or even 3 stockpiels are sending food for this farthest sector and no vehicles left for closed one.

There may be several solutions
1. build more stockpiles in sector 5
2. research upgrades for stockpiles increasing vehicle number
3. research and buil drones
4. set needed food in other sectors to less numbers (or every sector has about 1000 population?)
5. open sector 6 only for road to sector 1
6. build reserved food production in other sectors.
