Living quarters upgrade has to be reworked
First - description, not exist. Knowing ahead that upgrade for living quarters are not upgrade but a new building - ESSENTIAL
Second - makes it possible to build upgraded version on top of two unupgraded versions instead of slow process of scrapping two old buildings to replace it with new one.
Third - living conditions. for now i met Limited, minimal and optimal living conditions which have no explanation to - is it affecting population approval? If not - why? if yes - its never explained.

Third one - it affects approval, from people living mostly in optimal they give +2 / for mostly limited?(the basic building tier) it gives +1 and idk about minimal but probably 0 or -1

But half the fun is working out 'AFTER' you researched it, that your sector is now badly designed and you have to pull most of it down, move people between sectors and rebuild most of it. Just to repeat it again when you unlock Hull Temple and Observatory and redesign the sector yet again

But a simple 'icon' on the tech tree to tell you want is a new building and what is an upgrade to an existing building would be a nice QOL update.

Just like its not explained that Cell Houses even tho they add ZERO to stability (while the max house adds 3) they make way more waste per population count, which when recycled means a lot more free resources.

My waste sector has specialization in T1 food, T2 Recycling, T1 Industry, T1 Population.
And that means a insane amount of free resources, and swapping to Cell Houses means I ended up creating too much free resources per 15 cycles, I had to turn stuff off

Sounds like waste economy has to be nerfed to the ground

Or spit waste into two types, Industrial and Organic, so you can't make alloys out of poop but it would explain why your ships hull is falling apart, cause its made from poop alloy and they need to put another layer of poop on it all the time
