DES Fate of Protagoras (potential spoilers)
Spoiler

.

.

.

.

.

.

. I warned you

So in Chapter 1 we get the DES stability debuff

-1 from discovering the fate of the Protagoras

but in Chapter 2, we learn that the Protagoras got disabled and trapped in ice, but some of the crew survived, you help them repair the station, and they opt to stay behind, while some of the crew opt to join the Tiqqun.

So at this point the Fate of the Protagoras has actually changed, we know the ship is alive and we helped them, and a portion of our crew are actually from the Protagoras.

So why logically when we enter Chapter 3, does this debuff stick around? I know I can tank the stability hit, that's not my issue, it's just the thinly woven plot devices that get passed as gameplay mechanics to introduce difficulty seem to have more holes in them than the Tiqqun's hull.

Imho it should change to neutral as a reminder. Yes, we saves thats left of Protagoras, but it doesn't take away that it was utterly gutted by UN warship and only 2 sectors are operational and pressurized (which implies that all other are FUBAR and it crew either dead or frozen)

you get that debuff in chapter 2, not in ch1. Also that particular debuff can be permanently avoided if you are willing to sacrifice a science ship. Not even the crew, just the ship so 25 polymer.

Also if you read the notice about when you get it, the morale penalty is not for finding out that it is trapped in ice or anything, but that the UN attacked it just because 'DOLOS', meaning that you and your people are now branded enemies of Earth that will be killed on sight and that ain't going away next chapter.
