How do you get your storage areas to accept waste
Help.
I've tried searching here and in the games help section, but how do you get your storage areas to accept recycle waste?

It says your sector needs a specific policy? I've pocked around the controls and no dice. I have a mushroom farm that is doing nothing because i can't get no waste?

If I missed something obvious (which I think I have) my bad and thanks for any help.

You need to research (cant remember exact name) the building that lets you set policies. You need to build it in each sector you want to change policies on. Just look around in tech tree and you should spot it.

Have you researched and built the policy center? In there, you can set the policy to store waste instead of flushing it into space.

I can't remember what it's called, but it's towards the top right of the research screen.

I wasted resources to build the treatment plant first only find out I needed a DLS station as well. Two techs on the opposite side of the screen. This pisses me off. Who designed this ♥♥♥♥?

One is about running the place, the other is factory tech. The DLS Centre has 8 policies in total, so how could they possibly put them all on one side with all other associated buildings?

Well, if you mouse over the Waste checkbox on a storage unit, it stays greyed out and directly tells you that you must enable the Waste Recycling policy to enable it. The game also tells you that the DLS Center is how you enable policies in a sector, so it's not completely unreasonable for them to expect that the player will understand this.

That being said, I think they could lock the Mushroom Wall and Waste Treatment Center until the DLS Center is researched. They are all on the same tier and you can't research the next tier until you complete each research anyway.

Oh I totally should have figured it out had I not been frustrated with the game. It's missing quite a lot of quality of life elements from other games it's taken inspiration from.

I probably spent more time micromanaging the import/export trading system than paying attention to everything else. I love this description: [This Stockpile failed to transfer a resource to another Sector during the last Cycle]
