How to get more Inter-sector Transports?
Based on the MANY forum posts complaining about inter-sector logistics, this could just be a bug, but I cannot get my sectors to export some materials. Alloy is trickling out of my smelting sector, and ice and electronics will not transfer at all.

YES, I have stock piles in both sectors.
YES, I have set the exporting sector to maintain less stock than it currently has.
YES, I have set the importing sector in maintain more stock that it currently has.

The game mentions inter-sector transports coming from your storage depots, but doesn't explain how you get them.

So heres a tip i learned. Upgraded stockpiles are a trap. DO NOT get the medium-large stockpiles. You get 5 bots per stockpile. You get the same amount of bots in the medium-large ones.

So if you take your original 2 stockpiles and replace them with a bigger one, you end up with less bots, therefore tanking your economy.

The inter-sector transports are a T3(4?) research called "Drones"

Yeah, I'm still on the basic stockpiles. They must get some kind of inter-sector transport before the Drones tech, since at least alloy is slowly going from sector 1 to sector 2.

Youll just need to make a few more alloy stockpiles for more bots in the meantime.

I don't think the upgraded stockpiles are that big a trap... True they do not improve throughput, but the amount of storage and space efficiency are important. You wanna be real stocked up on Ice, even though the throughput you need is pretty low.
Though it would be nice is there was a note that alerts the player that it won't improve throughput.

As for inter-sector logistics, the stockpiles in question also have to be powered up. I've found that easy to run afoul of when you're juggling buildings.
It also seems relatively important to limit logistics, and minimize it. Have as few types of resources going across sectors as possible. But it wont eliminate the potential problem if there is a bug here.

FML, I figured it out. I was wrong about my third point above. I had built additional stockpiles and thought that they would fill up... except I never increased the minimum for that resource so they were over the amount of materials needed to satisfy the minimum.
